What are you guys up to this week? 

We are about to play at the Kerville Folk Festival, then we are leaving for a three week East Coast run. Eighteen days, fifteen shows. 

Tell us one thing about your band that no one really knows. 

CJ has a 6th toe. Helps him gleam the cube. 

What is your craziest tour story? Tell us about it. 

Once, driving out of El Paso at a border inspection station, we were told to pull aside for further inspection. The officer told everyone but Travis to leave the van and go to the building and take a seat. From where we were told to sit we could see and hear the officer screaming in his face, interrogating him. After a couple of minutes he sent Travis back to join us. After about 15 minutes of quite literally tearing the van to pieces the officer yells to us “The three of you from El Paso, get over here”. We have an absolutely no drug policy in the van, but we were still fear stricken. We walked over to the interrogating officer who was tearing up the van. The look in his eyes said he found 1,000 lbs of illegal drugs in all of your instruments. We thought we were done for, but then the look in his eyes got a little brighter. “Are you The Dirty River Boys?” he asked. “Yup, we are”. The officer let out a laugh, “I watch you guys at The State Line all the time, I love you guys! You are doing El Paso proud, mijos!” He informed us he was only doing his job and he trusted we weren’t transporting drugs or people anywhere. It was a pretty memorable moment on the road
