–––who ya gonna call?
@dexwxx
the electronic sound buzzing through the air had astor waking with a growl, wondering who the hell had a death wish. didn’t people know better than to call him this close to sunset? didn’t people know better than to call him at all? ashton & himself had gotten used to their lazy rises every evening, & his internal clock told him that the sun was not even entirely down yet. his chest expanded with an unnecessary breath as fingers finally came around his phone, ready to give the person on the other head a good & proper ass chewing. he gave the name on the screen no attention as he answered, bringing it to his face, ❝ who the fuck do you think y- ❞ had immediately tumbled out of his mouth, but was promptly cut off by some bastard asking him for a favor. it took a moment for the words to process, the hazy irritation snapping away, & astor’s eyes narrowed. ❝ dex? ❞ the lycan on the other end gave the affirmative, & restated his question, no extra information other than what room to go to. astor paused, he wasn’t exactly the biggest fan of handing out those kinds of favors - he could tell by dex’s tone what he was needing - without information. ❝ i’m coming. but don’t think this favor is free. you’ve got some explaining to do. ❞ fingers ended the call before dex had the chance to agree, because it wasn’t debatable.
both margot & ashton sent him questioning looks as he pulled himself out of bed & quickly dressed himself, pulling on boots within the next minute. he took a second to update ashton, before going to the closet & grabbing the work bag he always kept packed. a kiss goodbye, & a pat to margot’s head was all that came between him & leaving - his boots silent as he shut the door & moved down the halls, so many questions going through his mind. first being, why was dex dumb enough to kill someone in altolusso. second being, why was that someone important enough that his skills were necessary? third being... dex wasn’t dumb enough, at least he didn’t think. so what the hell had happened? he finally reached the room, & raised a hand to lightly knock. astor couldn’t deny the light tingle that passed over his skin - he was a man who enjoyed his job, & everything that came with it, ( even though it was hard to deal with sometimes. ). this was bound go be exciting.
