random character development questions / not accepting

009. do they believe in happy endings? ━ he does now. astor used to be entirely hopeless, always expecting the worst, nothing ‘good’ or ‘happy’ in his sights. he was never upset about it, just a factual acceptance of how life went. but that was when he was alone, & had to fend for himself. that was the safest way to be. then he let people in, morrigan, ashton, a few others in the beginning. that changed him, & his views on so many things. especially hope. hope that a happy ending could actually be coming his way. so yes, i’d say now, he does. without a doubt.

040. what is their obsession? ━ .... god the list of things he’s not obsessed with would probably be shorter. he basically hyper-fixates, but forever. cleanliness. control. forcing people to be honest in uncomfortable situations. ash’s skin beneath his fingers. anybody’s blood in his mouth. he struggles with that one the most. violence, group sex, pain. these things he’s able to keep himself from acting on, but it’s not without great effort.

051. if they knew they would die tomorrow, what would they do today? ━ tell morrigan, ash, & lili that it was family day. have a big breakfast, a picnic lunch. a feast for a dinner. maybe a movie or game night afterwards. he’d want to play his piano with lili. he’d get as much alone time with ashton as he could manage, while doing everything else. he’d make sure morrigan knew he loved her, & that she was perfect. the little things, really.

058. what is your character’s idea of a perfect day? ━ a day with ashton, in a new city, parking their cars & exploring on foot. eat the local food, talk with the people. just be with him, & soak it all in.

075. is your character ticklish? ━ NO.

082. what are your character’s sleeping preferences? ━ on his back, hands folded elegantly over his chest. naked. on egyptian cotton sheets.

                      ❝ where? tied to the ground & covered in honey?           –would you believe me if i said it was a sex thing & not a murder attempt? ❞

      MISERABLE. If there was one word Margaret would use to describe this situation, it would be that. But even the simplest, most disgusting word she could think didn’t come close to expressing her true sentiments about being here in Paris of all places. She never expected it --- never wanted to feel this way about the city she loved so dearly, and yet here she was. 

      Eric was a hybrid.       They were preparing for war.       And she had to live here in this . . . this . . . RUIN.

      Bitter, sneering, and more than a touch intoxicated, Margaret shuffled through the convoluted estate to the sparring session. Every step reminded her of how terrible this entire situation was. At least Altolusso was beautiful . . . this estate represented nothing but destruction and mess, not one image or comfort to shock her out of this foul, foul mood. As a Parisian, she was personally offended at the prospect of being forced to stay; as someone who didn’t possess a violent bone in her body, it took everything she had not to flee far, far away. 

       Her mouth twisted, sour as she stepped into the gym for a sparring session. She may not have wanted a thing to do with whatever battle was heading their way, but Margaret didn’t want to die, either. As she glanced across the training mat, however, she started to reconsider her decision. Lips pursing tightly in disapproval, Margaret's eyes narrowed accusingly, arms crossed as she froze at the very edge, refusing to step closer. “You.”

     the holidays spent together in their icelandic home were the best any of them had ever experienced, and there was no complaining when morri began playing christmas music through the house the night of thanksgiving. astor took lili out to feed their leftovers to the reindeer, so morri took the liberty to start cleaning up the mess they’d all left in the kitchen. her hands were deep in bubbly water, hips swaying as she softly sung along to etha kitt’s santa baby.

‘Santa baby, slip a sable under the tree for meBeen an awful good girl’

     ash leaned against the doorframe with a mile-wide grin on his face, watching his best friend sing along to the christmas tune. after a few moments he snuck up behind her, grabbing her by the waist and gently pulling her away from the sink. ‘i think the dishes can wait a little while.’ 

     morri wrapped her wet hands around his neck, smirking as the two of them swayed to the music. “look who’s got a little pep in their step.” she teased, pausing a moment before adding, “happiness looks good on you, you know? i think it’s de-aging you. be careful, if you keep this up astor may finally realize he’s too old for you.” morri grinned her devious little grin, watching ash shake his head. 

          “i think we always knew he was a cradle robber.” ash joked back. a comfortable silence grew between them, and morri rested her head on his chest as they continued to sway softly along to the music.

there’s been quite a few…. but let’s go with the first halloween the trio spent together.

       morrigan & astor had known each other for a little while by now, and had begun to pull ashton into their shenanigans. morri had to practically force ash into dressing up, but after dozens of costumes he finally agreed to dress as clark kent. morri was a sexy schoolgirl, and astor was a priest. they turned a few heads, naturally.

     the first mistake of the night was allowing morri to plan the activities. she made them do three rounds of shots before even going out, spending the first few hours packed beside strangers at a halloween party. ash hated every minute of it, at least until astor came over and started dancing with him. with no one playing chaperone, morri made a few friends of her own and got super wasted--falling in love with every pretty girl that passed. they finally had to call it quits after morri came up to them, drunk crying, about everyone dressed as vampires being ‘cultural appropriation’.
