I did bump into this dewolfe record on one of my expeditions with my pal Thierry. It’s full of strings, cellos, and has a certain oriental style I found very enjoyable. I bought it at the Alan Record Shop in East Finchley a true gem of a record store. Alan is a great guy.
There is also a fun story related to this record. Once, I was at the Brilliant Corners during one of my residencies as SUGO, and it took me 6 minutes to realise I was playing this record at the double of the speed. How embarrassing! Especially for a snooty place like the Brilliant Corners, where its customers are (well, were) very attentive to the music played. Â
Fun Fact, it was composed by Antonio Vallotti, whose real name was Meyer de Wolfe, which I guess is the founder of the label?
