Gale is the most beautiful woman Dewey has ever been with, and she's also the most terrifying.

Most mornings he wakes up completely unsure how he convinced her to marry him. But the thing about Gale is that no one really convinces her to do anything. She either wants it, or she doesn't.

So she must want him, and that's just about the scariest damn thing he's ever encountered in his life.

What do you think happened to them? They seemed relatively happy in Scream 4 to me

not really, tbh! it’s implied that gale didn’t enjoy living in woodsboro, and obviously we get the bit of them mentioning how when they moved to (?) what i presume to be new york…? dewey couldn’t handle it and decided to leave / bail to woodsboro.

which… alright! i mean, on the one hand, i can see dewey/gale separating especially because their relationship had always been very on/off… but it definitely feels against the ending of 4 which had dewey/gale re-affirming and strengthening their marriage together. i kind of don’t understand the point of that ending if they’re separated again 10 years later but stranger things have happened 😅

i think it’s probably just a combination of trauma and their own personal issues — dewey is forever tied to the town where tatum died, while gale is always seeking something more in life and feels constricted by living in quiet suburbia forever.

The first time Dewey wakes up in a hospital with Gale at his bedside, he's twenty seven years old and just had surgery to try and patch up a punctured lung where the knife slid in between his ribs, and maybe knit together what mangled nerves they could to keep him from being completely paralyzed.

The last time Dewey wakes up in a hospital with Gale at his bedside, he's fifty years old and isn't entirely convinced he isn't actually dead.

this is a great question, anon! sorry i’ve sat on this ask for awhile but i really wanted to give it my full attention because i’ve thought about this before!

The only thing Tara/Chad and Gale/Dewey really have in common to me are being the M/F pairings in their respective films honestly 😅 now if we’re talking character parallels then there’s no doubt Chad is meant to be similar to Dewey via being the kind-hearted damsel in distress final boy in comparison to their strong kick-ass final girls!

But Tara doesn’t have that many parallels to Gale, tbh. And the Tara/Chad relationship doesn’t have any meaningful Gale/Dewey parallels beyond the fact they’re survivors who fell in love? Tara/Chad are supposed to be friends to lovers, whereas at their core Gale/Dewey are opposites attract who have a very witty banter despite their differences.

Now I don’t necessarily think Sam/Danny have a ton of Gale/Dewey parallels, but I agree that Sam is an unconventional final heroine in the same way Gale is and that Danny is absolutely into the fact that Sam is an incredibly strong & smart woman.

(Not to mention — he completely understands & respects her traumas and how they impact her.)

1.) Gale x Dewey

my ultimate scream OTP and by far my favorite ship in the franchise. no one will ever top them for me. i love the fact that, despite their differences, dewey and gale care for each other so deeply.

they also always manage to see each others best qualities when no one else can, as clearly shown in both scream 2 and scream 3. they’re soulmates!

one element i really don’t love of their dynamic is how often they purposefully hurt each other to “win” above one another, and also how they could never seem to make each other happy for long.

2.) Mindy x Anika

gahhh, so much to say about these two! i think my favorite thing was just their effortless chemistry, and their amazing banter / dialogue in character.

least favorite thing? hmmm, i think it’s probably the fact they didn’t get enough screen-time lol. or that mindy actually suspected anika of being GF!

3.) Sam x Danny

my loves, my darlings, my muses. i love the fact that you can see HOW comfortable sam feels around him despite everything, and how danny is so wholly understanding of her circumstances & the choice she makes to pull away in scream 6.

i honestly would’ve loved some more angst from them at the end of 6, and tbh i do think there is something to be said for maybe how sam/danny might not last long term even if i totally love them.

4.) Chad x Tara

not my favorites, but still cute! i really loved their scene in the apartment where they almost kiss, it was a definitely super sweet and soft moment.
