OMG I hope it's not a big lamp/flash light that made that round reflection. Seriously don't tell me people do not know about ligtening restrictions in your museums? (sorry that always irks me, I studied that field and sun/light can really damage a painting)

Hey, we’re good, don’t you worry, you’re not being rude. :) I can pretty well understand the vexation concerning the proper expositions of valuable historical objects. This is a very… far-fetched example but in one Sherlock Holmes computer games from Frogwares in the museum location during the change of the expositions, the previous priceless collection of paintings was… dumped on the office floor in one huge pile like potatoes. I started to spit profanities at the screen.

Back to the topic at hand – I am sorry to inform you that YES, your suspicions are right, this reflection does not come from my camera flash but  from a lamp illuminating the picture. I don’t have enough knowledge to judge if the light is harmful to the painting somehow – but the whole section of the museum where His Eminence resides seems to be very properly kept. There are self-opening glass doors, inside there is some form of air conditioning to preserve the paintings and the lights, although bright as heck, also appeared to be ‘special’, at least in the outside design.

If Toiras would’ve been a bit old, then so would’ve Richelieu. XD Historically speaking, they were peers. Both were born in 1585, when La Rochelle happened they had 42 years. Real life Treville was 13 years younger than both of them.
