"Before I started photographing, I ignored the world. I had typical eyes. There were little things that I would overlook, people I walked past every day and I never saw the beauty in them. Now, I can't go anywhere without my camera. I take it with me to eat."
Devin Allen; Baltimore Sun Interview
bydvnlln gave an interview recently, in the Baltimore Sun, that many photographers NEED TO READ. (And, really- most Humans also need to hear the lesson....)
Please, if you pick up a camera: Open your eyes. The world is counting on it. Think about the legacy you leave behind in the snapshots of history-be brave and be bold.
It saved his life. It saved my life, and I know of several others who came to terms with life and the world about them in a healthy, productive way- by opening our eyes.
When you learn to see, you learn to love.
