Plant of the Day
Monday 8 July 2019
On an abandoned homestead in New Brunswick, Canada, a Malus sylvestris cultivar (apple) tree was covered in flowers and humming with bees. The surrounding meadow included an introduced European herbaceous species, Hieracium aurantiacum (Devil’s paintbrush, orange hawkweed, fox and cubs) with distinctive orange flowers.
