#devil my cry

Dante is presumed dead. Nero couldn't take revenge on his uncle and fight with him like a man. Such a deadweight.

His uncle might be dead, but his daughter isn't. He should go back quickly to save her from this hell. "go to ___, she's waiting for you." Dante said to Nero right before the rocks dropped.

"___!!" Nero yelled as he kicked the Devil May Cry door, literally shaking and breathing heavily as worry crept inside of him. Nero ran straight to the shop, leaving V behind. He doesn't care about anyone except his cousin.

‘Please be okay, please be okay,' Nero kept repeating this sentence over and over under his breath as he frantically searched for you.

“Nero..?" you whispered, poking your head out from your room with fear.

"___!" he called as soon as he saw you. Nero rushed towards you and hugged you tightly, shoulders dropping as relief took the worry's place.

You just woke up from a nap, and everything changed. Demons are everywhere, Red Grave is destroyed and a complete mess, people's screams filled the city, making you hide under your bed and pray for your safety. You tried searching for your father in the shop, but he's nowhere to be seen with Lady, Trish, and Nero. You hope it was just a dream, but everything feels too real to be fake.

"c'mon, we need to get out of here." he broke the hug and grabbed you by the wrist, not allowing you to question anything or even pack your things.

“Nero, what is happening?! Where is dad?!" you questioned as Nero dragged you to the van. Nico is already sitting in the driver's seat, waiting for both of you.

“Everything's okay," Nero finally said. He seated you on the couch as he tried to catch his breath. “I'll get you to safety, I got you."

“Nero, please, where is Dad?!!" you plead when you notice he's ignoring your questions about Dante.

"___," he called after a period of thinking, holding your shoulders and massaging them lightly. "dante's fine, he'll follow us when he's finished. You know that he'll never leave us alone and will always stick to our asses."

He feels absolute shit for lying to you. Dante's not fine, he jumped into the fight even when he's exhausted just to save Nero. He doesn't deserve anything.

You muttered a quiet "okay", smiling at Nero, even though fear still crept inside you. He smiled back with guilt, and he hugged you again briefly before signaling to Nico to drive and get out of this hell.

He promised to make everything right- to look after you for Dante's sake, and to come back to Red Grave to find Dante and take revenge. for Dante.
