I'm happy with how this one turned out; was able to retain most of the ideas of the original draft, while also tying in some elements of the larger family tree. I find that I enjoy this process more when I let go of making a 1:1 phonetic script and embrace "okay what weird quirk have I accidentally created, and can I make it a feature instead of a bug?" And then all of a sudden it's not just a writing system, it's a writing system with a history.

I replayed Dragon Age Origins (after a couple of years of not being able to play)during the lockdown as a Tabris and had completely forgotten about Devera when I did Unrest in the Alienage. While some people within the fandom tried to convince me to feel pity for her and that she was brainwashed', Devera instantly reminded me of the Bajoran Collaborators in Deep Space 9. I really hope we encounter more like Devera in the next game because I think many people in this fandom have conveniently forgotten that there will ALWAYS be corrupt individuals willing to sell out their own people. It would also be interesting to encounter elves in the next game who were once like Devera but are seeking redemption. I just want to see EVERY side explored in the game instead of the continual perpetual victim hood and how elves should hate all the other races.

I replayed Origins during the quarantine and realized I had forgotten about Devera when I had revisted her part at the Alienage in Denerim . I really wish there was more info about her history. Was she a freed liberati or did she have a mage parent or sibling from the laetan class enabling her status to be elevated? Because playing as a Tabris I really enjoyed killing her. I read the the lore and it said that all of the social classes fight and plot against each other. And it made me wonder if along with the Solas stuff in the next game that we'll be seeing a Tevinter Civil War.

I really want to play a city elf in Tevinter but I want to play one that needs redemption. I want to be a protagonist like who shares a similar status like Devera in Dragon Age Origins but I want them to turn AGAINST the Imperium I want other elves to see them as a traitor at first so they have to work really hard to build the trust of the elves and eventually their respect.
