I’ve raised this possibility minutes after 15.19, and i was even more convinced of this after the finale.

Yes this network is full of homophobic assholes, but homophobia was not the only reason why they destroyed spn’ legacy and erased 15 years of character development to deliver such a lame, nonsensical, depressing, 100% bros only finale.

The real reason is keeping their base audience because with spn ending and Jensen and Misha gone, they knew they would lose Destiel shippers as well as Jensen and misha fans, so why would they bother and make Destiel full canon and risk to upset bronlies when they will form the main audience for Jared’ walker especially given the fact that they are primarily composed of Jared’s stans.

This is imo, the most logical explanation to that sad excuse of finale, the reason every character of the Winchesters’ found family was erased to only leave the bros and also the reason why Dean’s character had that awful ending.

And Jared’s last opinion about the finale being his favorite episode just reinforced my conviction.
