Made from fresh rose petals, Rose Petal Jam is a delightful and fragrant preserve. It's a lovely way to preserve the essence of roses in a jar and gives your breakfast or dessert a little extra class.
Ingredients: 4 cups fresh rose petals. 4 cups granulated sugar. 1/4 cup lemon juice. 2 cups water.
Instructions: Wash the rose petals thoroughly and remove the white bases. In a large bowl, combine the rose petals, sugar, and lemon juice. Mix well and let it sit for 2 hours. In a saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add the rose petal mixture to the boiling water and stir continuously until it thickens to a jam-like consistency, about 20-30 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly. Transfer the rose petal jam to sterilized jars and seal them. Store in a cool, dark place for up to a year.
