Oh my god I didnt know anybody else knew about dessertbuns. That group was dogshit. I was a GA for them and im not gonna sit here and act like my art was amazing but at least my shit was clean and not some sketch I smeared color on and called a day. Got offered a crisp 15 bucks total for 2 designs and art offers despite me saying I was only seeking usd. Anon said they didnt know if anything had changed, i can confirm it hasnt. Theres still that massive tw list thats like a mile long and had shit on it like undertale and splatoon or " murdoc from the band gorillaz" I swear to god not even exaggerating. Species is dead rn, nico has fucked off elsewhere and begs on the internet for money to cover rent . They've abandoned dessertbuns . Zera says theyre making a new server but will that ever happen? Who knows

maybe things have changed since I left but dessertbuns were hell to be around. I knew some of the official artists and they were super limited in how many they were allowed to make when the owner could pump out as many unfinished sketch designs as he wanted and just sell those. plus the owner was basically the only one who was able to sell anything because cs adopters dont care about anything other than pop designer names
I saw there are a couple other old posts to here about them too and the lack of masterlist or any sort of organization leading to people losing myos and the staff not knowing what was going on was really really frustrating!! I had a couple really rare myos that I ended up losing because I lost the screenshot proof i had them. iirc the owner started them in 2018? 2019?? and ik he was like 11 or 12 or something but he had more than enough time to slow things down and hire staff that would be useful
also the owner would always make a bunch of "personal" db designs to fit in with his oc lore with his friends which kinda defeats the purpose of the exclusiveness. imagine going on his friends profile and seeing 50+ cursed gory dbs and thinking "Oh, I want one too!" and finding out you can only get one if you hack over a hundred bucks. im sure he got better but that whole place is a mess and people only bought the designs because it has the shiny rare closed species label on it + popular designer
and their server was lame as fuck. 500 different things on the blacklist you had to remember and you would get in trouble for mentioning one without tagging it but only the ones the staff could remember were on there. sometimes they would just randomly take things off of the list if they thought it was too much of a hassle and never updated it for when people left. you werent allowed to say uncensored curse words at ALL (there were actual grown adults there that said 'I know cursing is cool and mature and badass but it makes ME uncomfortable") UNLESS the owner randomly slipped a damn or ass and then you were allowed to say those ones because it wasnt as bad
overall it just kinda sucked there and felt too much like the owner making up his own little exclusive friend group and making other people fork over a bunch of money for just a single design just to get in the club. And ik a bunch of the big fancy designs that werent from giveaways or raffles were hoarded by a small bunch of people because they had all the money or had the connections to get designs for free. Rant over I just hated it there but at least I never want to be around a closed species ever again

Hello, Dessertbun anon, I do have two Dessertbun designs (not Nessa designs) that I've been trying to get rid of. I do not know who you are, but there is a Discord server, and I will set the designs to be given to first time owners only, for free, if you are in it. Sorry to use this blog as a means of communication, but I was that person who wanted a Dessertbun for so long, and had to get very lucky to even get one.

You guys think you know a bad species? Wait until you go into the Dessertbun Discord - Nessa isn't active, hell, none of the mods are active. All anyone does is post a bunch of adopts to a dead species, expecting 20~ per design. The species is obviously past its prime. "We're working behind the scenes/we're keeping our mod team as is." It's not working. Just hire new people, FIRE EVERYONE ELSE.
