a flag for anyone with any kind of depressive disorder or depressive symptoms. i didnt like any of the depression flags i found as they were all, understandably, very negative. and i, as a depressed person, wanted something that reflected more optimism while still acknowledging the negativity.

I wanted to make flag for disabilities I have but haven't seen many or any flags for. I've seen one invisible disability flag and two pots flags but I wanted to make my own. I've also known of a general depression flag but not specific flags for different types of depression (might make flags for other types of depression if people are interested).
Invisible Disability
The symbol for invisible disability is the sunflower! I haven't seen a flag with a sunflower somehow so I made one myself! I added the dark green stripes for flavour, and because I associate the colour with disability.
Chronic Disability
The grey stripes get lighter as they get higher, to symbolize things getting better, as well as different levels of pain/disability over time. I needed some way to represent time, so I chose the four seasons, using the coloured swirls, to say that chronic disability exists in all seasons/times. Gold is for recovery/healing.
Major Depressive Disorder
I used dull colours, specifically shades of grey blue/purple. White stripe is feelings of emptiness. Black and highlight turquoise come from the general depression flag. Gold is for recovery/healing.
Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome
Turquoise is apparently the colour symbolizing POTS, and the stripes getting lighter as they get higher represents the future getting better. The different shades also symbolize different feelings on different days, some good days, some bad days etc. Thick white stripe vs smaller black stripe is for showing that even if we struggle, the good moments are more important. Dark red symbolizes blood, as POTS is a blood/heart/heart rate disorder.
For flags 1 3 and 4, black represents disability in general. The black stripe represents the struggle, because living with disability is hard and can be painful. Not to glorify or romanticize the struggle/pain, but to acknowledge the strength and resilience of disabled people who live despite the pain/struggle.
