Spoiler Warning for future chapters of the fan fic.

I have finished creating the refrence for how MK will look after his transformation into a demon is complete. This is not what MK looks like by the end of Chapter 3, but it's how he will look eventually in the fan fiction.

Also I will tell you a bit about MK in my AU.

MK (Monkie Kid) is a nickname, and MK's chosen name is Qi Xiaotian.

MK is trans masc as well as gay, he uses the pronouns He/Him, They/Them

MK also has Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder as well as anxiety and PTSD.

Been friends with Mei since they were 10. Thr two started transitioning around the same time and gave each other their current names.

I love the idea that Mei basically named MK 'little sky', which is what Qi Xiaotian means, while MK basically named Mei 'a pretty plum blossom'.

MK loves all stone fruit but likes Nectarines, Apricots, and Peaches the most

That's all for that info now onto some...

Backstory

When MK was 15 his parents kicked him out after MK came out as Trans and Gay. Not long after Pisgy and Tang find MK and take him in. Tang looks after MK while Pigsy runs the Noodle shop, and Tang is the one who told MK about the legendary Monkey King Sun Wukong. At this point in time Tang and Pigsy were not yet married, and were in the process of courting. The couple supported MK and helped the kid transition and legally change their name to Qi Xiaotian. Also Pigsy got MK into therapy.

At some point MK's ex-parents show up at Pigsy’s Noodles and see MK with his adopted parents and freak out because 'Oh no our kid is being raised by a pig demon' and go full karen on Pigsy, Tang, and MK. The biggoted duo try to demand for custody of MK, and Pisgy and Tang rightfully refuse to hand MK over to the kid's abusers. After the issue gets taken to court, a restraining order is put in place that keeps the bio parents from getting anywhere near MK.

I had a strange idea

What if the mayor is actually a demon in human form? and that he was chained like Mac? but much earlier. I mean, an ancestor who lived with LBD when she was still in her form and before she was locked in that box.

The mayor was probably some guard or nobleman (etc, etc), who suffered the same fate as the girl who is possessing LBD.

Whoever took care of or inherited the box or already knew LBD (I guess she was a witch) and well chained him like a canvas of his power, ordering him to collect souls to keep her alive. But since the mayor was an "imperfect" being (I think that's the word)

And someone who is not very strong, will only be in charge of keeping LBD alive inside the box, giving him more power for so many years (I mean absorbing souls) for so many years chained, watching all your family and friends die, in addition of absorbing souls or possibly snatching them from the body while still alive, would drive anyone insane.

And well, the mayor is just... a... servant, until LBD found the key with which they locked her and Macaque (a being that does not die and is not human and also powerful) Probably more useful than the mayor (who by that time already had a screw loose...SEVERAL screws loose)😁😁😁

And then Macaque's betrayal happened and so on with the history of the series. And after so many years, it was obvious that LBD no longer suspected anything of the mayor (assuming that he already has him fully controlled, taking away all the free will he had when he was still alive)

And how did he become mayor?

I'm going to the side where the mayor, now as a specter, camouflaged himself in time, that is... in times of war, disguising himself as a general, medieval times, disguising himself as a nobleman, etc, etc, etc.

And since the mayor can do whatever he wants (as long as he continues to carry out Lady Bone's orders), well... the biggest and most liked job was: mayor.

And since he liked the name and the title… well there it is, rather he adapted, he probably already tried to commit suicide before, but since LBD has him chained, he never let go. 'Until you fulfill your destiny'

Summary:

AU where MK is a cambion and his powers are only awakened after he picks up Ruyi Jingu Bang. (He feeds on the platonic affection and love for his family.)

Macaque finds out what MK is.  He finds out Sun Wukong hasn't told his own successor about his true nature. He does the Monkey King a favour and tells the kid the bad news in a way meant to give MK anxiety and self-doubt.

MK learns that he's a leech, and doesn't know how long he's been (potentially) hurting his family. Even though he wasn't aware that it was happening, the guilt is crushing. He feels gross.

After having a bit of a panic attack today I started drawing to calm down.
