Someone asked me to talk about how they happened so i will eventually

I have like 9 drawings of them so far. 3 by my friend, two by me, and the rest are jokes like this one

So I have beeen coming out with possible headcannon solutions/explanations to this, We'll probably got a cannon answer sometime in the future but until then I'll brainstorm a bit, relating it a bit to Dess because I believe that Kris does care a lot about Noelle

So, what if Kris became possesed because they were trying to find Dess? Like they saw her last time near that bunker, and feeling bad for not doing anything at the time, they went to that bunker to try to find her, but something else came out of it? Or perhaps they did indeed checked inside and didn't found her, and that's why they are trying at a dark world now that they know how to open a fountain thanks to Queen

Another idea I come up with would be a way to make less shitty the whole using Kris thing. What if Kris was the one who summoned us? They felt they weren't able to do much to find Dess, so they asked for help, the help of someone who would be able to done a lot more than what they would be able to because we aren't bound by the same rules. However, just because it wasn't Kris's plan, that doesn't mean they are ok with everything we do, not only in the Doing bad stuff department but also in the not concentrating to find Dess, so they tried to force us to search a bit more by creating a new Dark wold, or maybe even that could have been an attempt to open a new are to search Dess in

Even thought I love the narrative of Kris being our Puppet, I feel bad that, at least based on what we know until now, we simply started to control them and ignore their feelings one random day. Making it so it is somewhat Kris's decision/fault would be the way I'd like to explain why they can refuse, it's like a "Wow wow buddy, my turn on the controller ok " at the end of each Chapter(?
