Almost on cue, a vibrant light illuminated his dark walls. Casting light on the glass windows. Morpheus pushed himself up. Lucienne blowing at the butterflies that seemed to give her no peace. “Sister.” Morpheus spoke as the light dimmed. Your figure becoming clear. From out of the light, you twirled out. Dancing around your brother with joy. It made him chuckle at your joyous.

The butterflies came flying at you with speed. Fluttering around you in a haze. Pressing a gentle hand on his shoulder, you gave him a kiss against his cheek, one leg popped up. You then waved happily at Lucienne, blowing her a kiss. Lucienne bowed her head. “Delight, how wondrous to see you” she addressed you. “Once again.” came afterwards with a mumble. 

Taking your brother by his arm, you spun him around with a loud squeal. Guiding him down at the steps as you came sitting with him. Hands under your chin, shuffling a bit closer to him. Fluttering your eyelashes in pleasure at him. “Tell me more stories.” you asked, wanting to be delighted by your brother. “Sister…” Morpheus chuckled out, patting your hand.

“Dream is busy, Delight.” Lucienne pitched in, knowing Dream wouldn’t have the heart to turn you away. Turning your head, you sharpened your glare at her. “I wasn’t talking to you.” came out rather bitsy. The one thing you disliked was when you were being denied of your brother. Dream, one of your eldest and most favourite. He always took the time to pleasure you with stories of people’s dreams. 

“Y/n.” Morpheus spoke, calling for your attention. Immediately you turned your head back to him with a smile. He exhaled deep. “Lucienne is…” he began. Already sensing where this was going, you grabbed his arm. Pushing yourself up his arm, laying your head on his shoulder.

“Please brother, I am bored. Delirium is only crushing my bubbly today. She’s on a roll. You have to free me from her chaos.” you begged, pulling at his arm. Sharing a realm with your counterpart wasn’t always easy. Twins, divided. Delirium and delight.

Eons ago one, now two. Split into two halves of one. “I don’t ask for much…” letting go of him, you lowered your gaze. Reaching for the sigil around your neck. A flower. “Just one!” Pleasure bursting through you once more as you nearly shouted the words in your excitement. 

“Delight!” Lucienne responded loudly. Morpheus held his hand up to her that it was alright. “Y/n… I…” Dream started once more. In response you let yourself fall into his lap, staring up to him. “Please brother… just one and I’ll be out of your hair.” holding a finger up by your cheek with a sweet smile.

He moved his hand up from underneath your hair. Needing assistance from his other hand to untangle his fingers from the flowers in your head. He turned his head at Lucienne. Her glare made it clear to him to not give in. Morpheus cleared his throat deeply. “My dear Y/n.” he spoke as it made you pull yourself up abruptly. “Don’t.” you cut in, already knowing the way his sentence was going. 

“You are turning me away. You won’t even please me with one small story. With Delirium at work, I can’t go back yet. I tried to help her, my head twisted, my heart divided… I thought I had you on my side.” you said, pushing yourself away from him.

Backing away. The butterflies no more. Formed like mots, circling you. “Y/n.” Morpheus spoke, getting up as well. Holding a hand out to you. Shaking your head, you kept backing away. “I get it, I’m not important enough for you.” you outed, some of Delirium’s instability seeping through. “No!” Dream answered with haste.

Reaching out to you, but you pulled your hand away. “I can’t just find refuge in your realm from my twin.” Crossing your arms, you turned your posture away. “Y/n it isn’t refuge anymore when you nearly come here on a regular basis.” Your brother responded. 

Eyes widening, you turned sharply around. “Is that it!” you snapped at him. “You think I am here too much?” ending a sharp breathy laugh at the end of your sentence. Finally understand. “It finally comes out. I’m annoying and you just don’t have the heart to tell me!” outing with fury.

“That is not what I said.” Morpheus responded getting swirled up in your emotions. The chaos stirring between the two of you. “But…” he finished, glancing away. “But what?” you replied, wanting a straight answer from him. Morpheus sighed loud. “But what, brother?” repeating your question.

“But it is getting too much. You have tasks at hand, not fill your time with idle stories to your pleasure!” Morpheus called back. Making you gasp loud. “Is that how you truly see me? Thank you for showing me your true face, brother!” 

Clapping un-amused. “You are all the same!” shouting accusingly at him. For your heart bled that your closest sibling was having enough of you. Turning your back to him, you didn’t want to give him a glance. The mots attacking your brother. Making him swat them out of his face.

“My realm is off limits to you now. I don’t want you there… ever again!” Snapping your fingers, you surrounded yourself by light. Disappearing, leaving a few petals behind. Morpheus stepped up to the petals, kneeling down. Barely touching them, they crumbled. 

Locking yourself in your room, you wanted to block Delirium out. Knees pulled up to your chest, you tried to keep her chaos at bay. Not wanting it to affect you.

Humming softly to yourself, you tried to stay bubbly and joyous. Head buried between your legs, you wanted to keep everything out. Sobbing quietly at the loss of your brother. The only one you felt like breathing around.

Knowing he was the only one that understood you. Accepted your personality as it sometimes could come over as pushy or too much. Making you feel as one, not a part created from your sister. For it sometimes made you feel like less. 

You gasped, head shooting up at the thunderous feeling of pounding. A force trying to break through. “Y/n!” your name echoing in the realm. Your brother’s voice clearly. “Go away!” you shouted back, not giving in to his invitation.

The thundering thumping increased like a drum beating in your heart. “Please…allow me passage.” he asked. You shook your head in response, too stubborn to let him in. “No!” you shouted back with tears in your eyes. “Sister please…” Begging for a way through. You let your face fall in the palms of your hands.

Tearing the barrier down. Sensing a warm presence before you. “Y/n.” his soothing voice, deepend through you. You let out a sob upon feeling his hand on your knee. “Forgive me sister…I didn’t listen to your needs.” 

He moved your hands away to look at your face. Softening his gaze at you. “I’m sorry…It’s just easy when I’m with you. I’ll try to tone myself down…I know I can be too much…I just feel so right when I’m around you.” you confessed.

Morpheus lifted his upper chest a bit up to wipe some tears away. “You are never too much.” Giving a gentle tug on your arm, he pulled you down into his embrace. “Forgive me sister…” tightening his embrace around you. “I want you to keep coming back.”
