A thought:
Maybe I'm stupid, but why is it that people are weirded out that same sex ships are more prevalent in shonen, when such ships have the most passionate deep buildup than the canon straight couple?
Take Dekugo for example: Are you gonna tell me that Ururaka and Deku have the same buildup as Deku and Bakugo? Bakugo as I understand it, cried at the idea of Deku no longer being able to be a hero, and started a secret project to fund a suit for Deku to achieve his dream, Uraraka... didn't.
Don't get me wrong, I don't even like bakudeku, the bully to rivals to lovers thing isn't my cup of tea. But I understand where bkdk comes from.
On the other hand, we have Dandadan: Dandadan has Momo and Okarun be the main focus in terms of relationships. Not for one minute do you get the feeling that Okarun and Jiji are gonna be a thing. The first episode is called "That's how love starts" and if mangaka want us to believe the canon straight ship more than headcanon, they really gotta take notes from Momokarun.
That's my rant like it, hate it, get confuzzled about it. Go ahead lemme know just how twisted I got it.
