The thing with chronic illnesses/chronic pain is that it’s incredibly isolating. When it’s bad it takes up your entire world, everything you think or do is coloured by it. You get sick of talking about it but what else is there left? You can’t do things you want to, when it’s bad you can’t leave the house without being in incredible pain for the next week. Plans get cancelled, promises broken, and you’re left feeling alone. People who don’t have this don’t get it, they will be sympathetic to a point but they don’t understand it, and that’s frustrating for everyone concerned. You feel stuck, and bored, and lonely and all the things you would do to resolve that normally you can’t right now. When the pain is bad you’re alone with it and there’s nothing that anyone can do that will help, there’s nothing you can do that will help, so you have to ride it out and tell people you’re fine. Because you are, it’s been worse, and you will be fine. It’s just so fucking lonely.
All the comments on the mandalorian and grogu movie are all critiquing it for being corporate slop, unnecessary sequel, just a tv episode, etc, and like, idk, maybe some of that is true, but I’m looking forward to it? I’m behind on some Star Wars stuff but I love the mandalorian and grogu, and I’m not condemning the movie until I actually see it. And you know what? I liked the sequels! They had their problems, but I liked a lot of them! And honestly, just like with the prequels, I think opinion will shift favorably towards them as the years go on. I just wish we didn’t need to go through everyone shitting on stuff first before people can openly enjoy it
