Your Dream Vacation Is My Hostage Refuge

I’m about to take the next step in my career, and it’s a really big thing. I’m pretty sure no one in my life really properly understands what a huge leap this is. But you know who would? My dad. He would get it and he’d have advice for me and he’d be so proud and so happy and I probably wouldn’t be alone on the evening of my last work day before I start the new thing.

And I’m mad that I can’t share this with him. I’m so mad that he didn’t get to see me do shit with my life. He missed most of the big moments and every year he misses more. He’s got a grandchild on the way thanks to his idiot youngest and he’s going to miss that. He’s missing everything. I miss him in everything.
