“I was persecuted in broad daylight just for sharing my faith!”
They were protesting a PRIDE event with signs telling people they were going to Hell
“I’m being singled out at work just for being proud about my love for Jesus!”
They were asked politely by HR to “Please stop blasting worship music from their cubicle.”
“ This is a war on Christmas!”
They cannot comprehend that other groups celebrate different things in the winter time.
“They want to indoctrinate our children into sinful lifestyle in public schools.”
Meanwhile they’ve been forcing their children to attend church every Sunday where they’re taught that they are:
Inherently broken and need to Jesus who died to save for your horrible evil depraved soul from Hell, and you are personally hammering nails into his body every time you reject him or sin. (Yes, this is a real thing I was told on multiple occasions)
That their bodies belong to literally everyone but themselves. Their god, their parents, and their future spouse, because they are 100% going to get married because all good people get married. If you, for some strange reason, do not get married it better be because you’re dedicating your life to serving god. Anything less is pure selfishness.
(They claim this applies to everyone but it’s really only women.)
That their specific church or denomination is the only one with the correct interpretation of the scriptures and all of their friends are going to Hell, and it’s their personal responsibility to share their faith with them. Because the all powerful god is apparently too busy to do it himself. Oh, and if you don’t share your faith you’ll be held responsible for their unsaved status.
Women’s bodies are inherently sexual and should be hidden at all cost because they are somehow responsible for people not getting horny. We will just completely ignore how women wearing complete body covering garments are still harassed, sexualized, and abused routinely. But it’s still somehow, someway, their fault.
Anytime something horrific happens you need immediately reaffirm your belief in god.
“Lean not on your own understanding”
“It’s not our place to question god.”
If you don’t do this you may start to realize that either god is not all good OR their is no god and sometimes horrible things just happen. Do not take anytime to truly heal and accept what’s happened just reaffirm that god is good and pray.
