Dec 5 - went to the pharmacy to pick up prescriptions, and the post office to pick up mailing supplies for the scarves. Was reconsidering maybe getting a flat rate box after all, but it turned out they were entirely out of the size large ones anyway. So I picked up a roll of craft paper to use to cover a random other box.
Have made a decent start on the throw blanket I'm crocheting for myself. I'm working it in Caron Simply Soft worsted acrylic yarn, which I purchased in white plus four increasingly dark shades of green for an ombre effect. I'm working it as a squared spiral of single stitches from the centre outwards, so for each colour of yarn I purchased one more ball than the previous colour, as it'll take more and more yarn to work one row all the way around the further outwards I get.
Yes, that's 15 balls of yarn purchased for the blanket, I figure if I'm wildly wrong on the amount of yarn needed and it's big enough by ten balls in, I can just use the remaining five of the darkest green for some other project.
It's going to be a stupid number of stitches to make the entire thing, but it's very meditative to work on since the only time I need to pay any real attention is when I need to turn a corner. And those will be taking longer and longer to work between as the blanket progresses.
Supper was pasta with meat sauce.
