deamusesâ:
A small smirk curved a corner of his lips after her request, then looked down at the stick he was holding between his fingers as if pondering the whether to comply or not; returning his glance to Chey, he lifted the cigarette to his lips and had another long drag. âI donât think so.â Carrick fainlly said with a slight shook of his head. âTheyâre damn expensive to let people have even a drag from mine.â But a couple of seconds later, he shifted the cigarette so the end of it was pointing towards the woman, then moved his hand close to her mouth. âYouâre gonna owe me, though.â He teased after she had her drag and shifted the cigarette again to have one himself and holding it between his lips as he got down the stool and drew his wallet to pay for his drinks, he could have paid for hers as well but he just wasnât used to do that kind of things for women that it slide from him. Chris gave him a knowing look as he picked the bucks Carrick left on the bar and he might have overheard his conversation with Chey and how he told her he didnât come here often because the bartender didnât greet him as he always did.
As he first dismissed her stipulation, she blinked and narrowed her eyes at him as if she was ready to scold him. Thankfully, he caved and turned the cigarette towards her. âYouâre so damn difficult,â she mumbled with a smile before taking the cigarette between her lips. She took a drag before letting the smoke slip between her lips, once more creating a wall of smoke between them. She watched as he paid for his drinks, not very surprised he didnât offer to buy hers. Most men didnât with her. Luckily, her beer was on the house - always a treat after playing for them. âSee you next time, Chris,â she told him, and patted the counter before walking towards the exit.Opening the door, she leaned her back against it to allow enough space for Carrick to walk out. âYou cominâ or what?âÂ
