Historically, I used to think of buildings as really separate entities. They're objects, right? that we, in many cases, for architects, they're sort of fetish objects where we're obsessing about what these things are shaped like or look like. The DeafSpace wisdom really brings forth this idea that buildings are really not separate from us, they're a manifestation of us. If you think about it in those terms, the importance of how a building supports your daily experience -- for example, something as simple as how the light's coming through these windows right now, completely changes the dynamic or mood of this space, and the kind of conversation we can have and the clarity of which we are thinking within this space is influenced by this cask around us.
