I sadly did not attend the women's march on Austin today due to some health issues, but I was just looking at all the pics of the signs (especially the Princess Leia ones) and feeling so empowered and proud of us as a nation. I am fighting personal battles everyday (me vs. my body & me vs. society) and it's great to see everyone being so vocal and supportive to each other's fight/plight even for just one day. "Always be kind, everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle." I live my life by this quote and I'm glad to see everyone standing to fight together. This is not a sign from today's marches and I don't know the owner, but it is a sign I would have proudly marched with today. (But the hearing person would have been Trump or the government lol.) I am also being more vocal about my story, blogging a lot more, writing again, doing art again, and doing what I can to make sure that all Deaf/HoH people are heard, even those who lost hearing later in life like me. I am inspired by Deaf speakers everyday such as @rikkipoynter, @themarleematlin, @amanda_mcdonough. I'm sad that I did not march with my homies today, but I am marching everyday for myself, and for us. #womensmarch #austin #atx #atxlife #austintx #austintexas #sign #deaf #hoh #asl #personal #hardofhearing #texas #deafpride #deafpower #nothingaboutuswithoutus #trump #inauguration #women #signlanguage #inspiration #inspirationalquotes #deafculture
