Praying he had the right address, he wasnt being catfished and he wasnt about to completely humiliate himself in front of 'James', Bradley Spencer pushed down the doorbell and held his breath.
It had began relatively simple enough. Bored and alone, he had been scrolling through Tinder, looking for someone to match for a few drinks or casual dates around London.
After his former relationship with his best friend flopped due to Bradley moving from the States to the UK for studies (and the fact that neither of them were ready to move past a platonic relationship yet), he felt invalidated, restless. He wanted to find someone else that would prove he could still maintain a meaningful relationship.
Which is why he jumped on the ad for a sugar baby. It was perfect, in his mind.. Sugaring didnt have to be serious. It was an exchange of affections and well, favors but there was no pressure to move in right away, get married or proclaim undying love within the first five minutes of seeing each other.
He matched with the man behind the ad calling himself James and let him know he was interested. A few exchanges later, he was invited for a cup of tea.
Maybe that's just how the british daddies are, though. Back in the US, Bradley would've expected an invitation to a bar or even a pretentious restaurant to talk about their arrangement. But if there's one thing he learned from living in England, is that the British are not always a proper as they pretended to be.
Still he fussed with his hair in those precious few moments before the door opened, hoping sneakers and a turtleneck sweater weren’t too informal for their tea date.
