Kar had been bouncing her rear on the top of a trunk in the sort of manner of attempting squish the contents down enough to close it. It seem to shake, as if either alive--or something trapped in it.

"What's up?" She said, just sitting atop the trunk, which seem to vibrate malevolently.

A perpetual couch surfer, Faust is found sprawled across Laika's floor among their latest ink-scribbled draft, a publishing deadline nipping at their heels. As engrossed in their work and sleep deprived as the scholar is, they don't even notice their gracious host enter stage left until a peck on their head breaks their trance. A smile blooms across their face as they crane their neck to look up at Laika, the red smoochie mark from her lipstick complimenting the bloodshot eyes quite nicely.

Well. That certainly wasn't an offer one got everyday. Gale studied his tadpole companion for a moment, trying to decide if she was serious or not. One could never tell, with this lot.

"That is... a charming offer, but I will have to decline, nonetheless." He stared forlornly at the spot Elminster had disappeared from. The sight of his old mentor had given him hope, for a moment, before it had all be snatched away again. To die for Mystra's forgiveness...

The frankly absurd suggestion is enough to get Iago's attention away from the fight going on around them. They look at the pretty offered hand for a moment, bewildered, then hold up their own- nails cracked and charred, sparking violently, and twitching erratically with magic.

"I think it best if our girlish solidarity-" They interrupt themselves to casually flick their fingers, incinerating someone over the lady's shoulder. "-adopt a lest tactile acknowledgement."

After everything with Minrathous and Treviso, it was hard to believe that. She wished, desperately, that she could have saved both. That one of them didn't have to die to save the other. That she could have been better.

But blighted as it was, Treviso wasn't dead yet. And Ruby would fight until her final breath to keep it that way.
