I’m loving all this talk of dad Strade in the Strade tag, so here are some more thoughts
TW: child neglect, SA, slight misogyny
Dealing with Strade postpartum would be a nightmare. He’d neglect you and his baby just to have you even needier and exhausted; lazily circling his index around the rim of his second bottle as he watches you scramble to take care of his baby while you’re sore and leaking from your stitches (which he was very eager to help out with, and possibly added in another stitch for him, too).
He loves idea of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, but has a childish annoyance towards the actual child. He doesn’t understand what the big deal would be if you just left the baby in a crib all day, and he doesn’t understand why he should be the one to take care of a baby if you’re the one who gave birth to one. You’ll learn quick that he cannot be trusted to watch his own child simply because of his inattention. He would let his baby suffocate in couch cushions if you leave them alone for too long.
Don’t think that pregnancy and postpartum would change your status as free use. He’d jump on you as soon as you put the baby down and talk about putting another one in you (“It’s not like that loose skin is going to go away, anyway.”) He’s especially interested in your breasts and will refuse to buy a breast pump because he can and will just milk you himself. Do not let this man learn about hucow, or else he’ll try to build your own milking machine.
Strade is a very fickle man. Once the awe of childbirth wears off and the reality of parenthood catches up to him (which will be sooner rather than later), he will revert to his usual hobbies to further avoid his child. He’ll go out of his way to look for more community events in the neighborhood and city and offer to help out with maintenance and repairs more frequently. While he does savors the pain you’re in, it just isn’t quite enough. He may have to bring another victim home or else he’ll take out his desires on you.
