Out of all the DD characters, I don’t think the Houndmaster gets nearly enough props.

The first image is the Houndmaster’s response to being attacked and (bearing in mind he could’ve been attacked by anything ranging from a walking corpse to a towering, multi-limbed monstrosity) his first reaction in the face of danger, his initial instinct, is to step in between the aggressor and his dog, using one arm to keep the pup out of harms way and the other to protect himself. Using nothing but a padded training mitt.

The second image is from his Lick Wounds ability, which isn’t quite as dramatic but does a good job of showing that the hound is definitely more than a tool or a means to an end.

Heck, take a look at some of his quotes when he becomes Afflicted with Selfish, you can see where his priorities are:

This hound deserves more praise than any of you.

The hound's health comes before any of you.

I do what's best for me and my girl.

The other Afflicted states have relevant quotes too but you get the idea.

His mentality and the fact that his top priority, at any time, is to care for and protect his companion makes him feel real, it conveys that sense of humanity that the heroes of DD hold as both a strength and a weakness and it makes him relatable. I’m a dog person, I get it, I’d jump in front of a car to protect my pups. But in this context the ‘car’ is a 12 foot abomination from the stars or a pack of sadistic killers and he still, without hesitation, stands between them and his dog.

i think that the dd designs are good, ngl

the only model that i think would be better in a different way would be bierce, perhaps less glamorous or conventionally pretty for the silver screen. also i don't see a reason for lucky to have been a rabbit while the other two are 'food' animals, if they would have been a more assorted style (like keeping penny a panda) it wouldve been better.

the murder monkeys are perfect, just the right amount of silly. agatha is a little average, but the burns are a good touch. gold watchers, a little meh but alright. dont know why so many ppl are into them. duckies. legs. what else to say. clowns: awful little gremlins. 12/10. reaper nurses, theyre great, but imma be honest with you chief: i dont like the voice acting. sorry ms. strong. i already gave my two cents for the jjg. mama bear is neat, too bad shes barely (HA) ever seen in game except in cut scenes.
