I don't understand the people who say Tim getting with a woman would be some sort of erasure or homophobia. Do they not understand how bisexuality works? If anything I think feeling the need to break him up with his long term gf because he's "bi" was an odd choice to begin with. I know timber is extremely popular here for some reason, and timbers like to tussle, but I do not understand the bullying antis get and the fact that we are all labeled homophobes for disliking this ship I have ZERO reason to find enjoyable. Queer representation isn't a good enough reason when that's the only redeeming quality the ship has.
But, on to my original point, do people think our sexuality fluctuates depending on who we date? I'm just as bisexual when I'm with a woman or man. That doesn't change. Too many people are way too comfortable throwing out takes that are poorly disguised bi-phobic comments, and a lot of those comments are from our very own community.
And before anyone even goes there, I'm not a disgruntled TimSteph fan. I don't even particularly like the pairing, but I understand why they're so pissed. I'm more of a TimTam fan, but I also know that's NEVER happening again.
On the real, if you took the queer aspect out of the ship and Bernard was a girl, the same people who SWEAR people who don't like Bernard or the ship are queerphobes would NOT like Bernard or the ship. Men are always able to get away with mediocrity, and even women who label themselves feminists readily allow it and clap like seals. Cause, let's be completely honest, a lot of the timber and Bernard fans who try to shame people for not liking the ship or Bernard are women who label themselves feminists.
