Summary:Â Brian is always the one left behind in the practice room to finish songs or write something new. Jae comes back with a little surprise.
Or extremely tensed Brian gets a helping hand from Jae.
We were thinking about starting a new feature on our blog. What would happen would be that ever 2 weeks or once a month we give all of you a theme, or five prompts words or a one line prompt.
We leave the story and the member up to you
The length can be as short or as long as you wish.Â
This is an effort to encourage more people to get writing for Day6 without the commitment of a blog. We offer the feature of crediting your work or leaving it on anonymous if you wish.
Please like or reblog the post if you like the idea or would be interested in taking part.
If we get positive feedback about this feature we will post more info in the coming days. Follow @mydayimagines in the mean time because we will be posting work about this feature on here.
We’d like to thank @lyricalwritings for the idea for this new feature
a/n: #28 (”How drunk was I?”) requested by @unlikely-kryptonite. I hope you don’t mind me tagging you! Anyway, thank you for requesting, it truly means a lot. I hope you enjoy what I have written for you!Â
Brian rolled over and his stomach suddenly turned sick and queasy. His head was sore, and with each move brought him nausea and unbalance, even lying against the safety of the mattress. His insides felt sour, and he wasn’t sure if he was going to vomit or cry. Possibly both.
The bedroom door shifted, and Brian squinted against the light. He could see small lights bouncing around the room and he groaned, he was well and truly experiencing the worst hangover of his life.
“Morning sunshine.” He hears you say, but he makes no attempt to speak in the fear his stomach was about to throw up the contents of last nights dinner that he’d shoved down his throat at about three o'clock in the morning. Instead, he groaned in acknowledgement, and groaned again when he heard you laughing.
“You look rough.” You tell him, placing a glass of water at the bedside with a small white pill he assumed to be pain killer. He reached for it, and took no hesitation in downing the entire glass. Then, he regretted it, because the icy liquid made his body feel uneasy and cold. He put the empty class back against the bedside table and cuddled back in the warmth of the blankets.
He hears you giggling again, but this time you’re shifting the mattress behind him, and he doesn’t wait a single moment to turn over and rest his head on your legs.
“I love you so much.” He manages to mumble, feeling a little better as your fingertips lace through his hair.
“I should hope so, I gave up my bed for you last night.” You tell him, jokingly, but he feels instantly foul, and not just because of the hangover.
“You’re kidding? You should have left me on the sofa.”
“And give you a bad back on top of a horrendous hangover? No, I couldn’t do that. I knew you’d be suffering enough.”
He grumbles, “Share the bed with me next time.”
“And risk being puked all over? I’d rather not, thanks.”
“Oh come on, I wasn’t that bad, surely.”
You laughed, “Oh Brian, you can’t remember coming over last night, can you?”
“No, why? How drunk was I?”
“You were flirting with me.” You told him, giggling as if you were remembering it all while Brian was still trying to picture the scene.
“What’s wrong with that?” He mumbled, pouting slightly.
“Brian, you asked me if I was single and then cried when I said no.”
He hid his face in your lap, shying away as you laughed loudly from above him.
“I’m never drinking ever again.” He stated, embarrassed.
You pressed a kiss to his head, soothing his hair down from it’s bedhead state. “You said that last time, baby.”

a/n: as only one person requested from the drabble challenge, I went onto a random number generator and got 63 (”Flea markets don’t carry fleas, you know?”). I decided it would be best suited to Jae. Enjoy.Â
Jae looked utterly dazed. His eyes followed the glow in the dark stars on your ceiling with the utmost concentration, as though it was the real things and he was trying to sort constellations. He squinted slightly, a result of leaving his glasses somewhere. They’d turn up under Sungjin’s sofa, or something, you were sure.
He’d been drinking. Well, just drinking may be a bit of understatement. He was completely drunk; and as much as you wanted to leave him lying on a cold bench outside somewhere as a consequence for his stupidity, you just couldn’t leave him.
From what he’d told you in slurred and incoherent sentences, he had gone to Sungjin’s with a few friends to have a few drinks and watch some films. Except, the drinking turned a little out of hand, and before he knew it Jae was calling you for somewhere to crash so he didn’t have to go home to his family in the most intoxicated state he’d probably ever been in his entire life.
“Why couldn’t you have just stayed at Sungjin’s?” You asked him as you slid a cup of water on the bedside table. He looked down from the stars and gazed at you, seemingly coming away from his fascination with the stars.
“There wasn’t enough room, and Dowoon and Wonpil were being disgusting. Sharing blankets and cuddling. And anyway, I needed an excuse to come and see you.” Jae grinned at you, his smile cheeky. In his drunken state, he didn’t seem to have much of a filter. Everything on his mind came spilling out like a waterfall and it’s almost got him into a lot of trouble way too many times.
“Whatever. You shouldn’t have got so drunk. If your mother knew-”
“I know, I know. It wasn’t meant to happen. It was Brian’s fault, he said we should play some drinking games and then brought out the vodka shots. Except they weren’t shots, they were glasses, and I feel really sick.”
“If you dare puke on my mattress Park Jaehyung, you will be buying me a new one.” You tell him tightly, but he doesn’t seem intimidated, instead, he giggles. Actually giggles. It’s hard not to smile along with the contagious song that escapes his lips.
“Come on, you.” You tell him, sliding into the bed beside him. “I want to sleep.”
“Do we have to sleep? Can we go to a flea market?”
“A flea market?” You question, eyes narrowing to look at him. “Why?”
“I want some fleas.” He mumbled, eyes dropping. He’s fighting for them to stay awake, though you’re lying at his side in the dark and tiredness is crashing into him like waves.
“Flea markets don’t carry fleas, you know?” You tell him.
But Jae is clearly still drunk, “I love you.” He states out of the blue, “I love you a lot (y/n)”
Then, he snores, and your cheeks are flaming but you’re also tired and this was a conversation that needed to be done sober. And thus, you let sleep overcome you too.
a/n: Thank you @mariaseemsgood for requesting #51 for Dowoon. This is supposed to be a drabble, but it turned into 1k words, so yeah, it’s a bit longer than I anticipated. Either way, I hope you enjoy it.
What does it mean to argue with someone? You’d never really considered such a thing until this time. It’s not like you and Dowoon ever argue, in fact, it’s a rare occurrence. Because even when Dowoon is mad, he’ll bring you your breakfast in bed, and leave you notes around the house, and leaves the last piece of cake for you. Sometimes he does all of those things because he’s mad. Though arguing? That’s never really been a thing.
Until now.
It still makes you cringe, imagining the look of anger on his face. It wasn’t so bad, the shouting, or the words, but the eyes, and the emotion, it stung like a knife through the heart.
He’s gone now, and the house is empty. He’d left for Busan about an hour ago, blanched and expressionless. There wasn’t a goodbye, or even a kiss on the cheek. Nothing.
It still fucking stings.
What had you even been arguing about? You tried to trace it all back to the beginning. There was something about Dowoon being jealous, and you not being able to go to Busan with him over Christmas to see his family because of work. Jae was mentioned in the mix of all that somewhere.
“I’m not jealous of Jae, {y/n}! I just want you to pick me for once in your life! It’s always about him and this youtube stuff! I know you work hard on these videos with him, but is it really so important that you have to miss Christmas? With me?!” Dowoon had raised his voice. He looked a mess, his hair was crazy from running his hands through it too much.
“I’m not missing Christmas, Dowoon! Christmas still happens here in Seoul! It’s not Busan exclusive!”
“You don’t get it, do you?” He looked like he was either going to scream or cry. “You just don’t fucking get it.”
Dowoon never swore, not in front of you, not ever. It was as impactful as a slap in the face. You shook your head. “No, no. I don’t get it, so explain it to me!”
He shook his head, then turned, and left.
He left for Busan without you.
You rubbed your eyes, you felt pathetic. You were curled on the sofa in a pair of old leggings and Dowoon’s yellow hoodie. It was too big for you, but you liked that, the way it held you whenever Dowoon couldn’t (or wouldn’t, in this case, perhaps.)
The familiar sound of your mobile sounded, and you scrambled for it, heart sinking when the caller ID showed Jae. It was the last thing you needed at this moment in time, but you still found yourself accepting the call and letting the phone balance between your ear and your shoulder.
“Jae. What’s up?”
“When do you want to come over and decorate the house with me? We need to have a nice backdrop for our next sketch idea. Oh! Do you think you could help me set up something for the boyfriend tag I’m planning on doing with Wonpil too? I want to write a song to let the viewers know I’m seeing someone. I thought it was creative but Wonpil thinks it’s too much. Is it too much, {y/n}?”
“It’s great.” You gave a standard, monotone response.
“You sound so enthusiastic.” Jae scoffed, “Come on {y/n} where’s your Christmas spirit? Anyway, I was thinking, we should-”
He kept talking, lapping ideas for Christmas decoration and back drops and singing Christmas carols, but all you kept thinking of was Dowoon. You imagined decorating the Christmas tree with him, singing carols and messing around in red Santa hats and polaroid photographs.
Then the penny dropped.
This was it, wasn’t it?
Is it really so important that you have to miss Christmas? With me?!
It all made sense. You’d met Dowoon years ago on Christmas eve, the Christmas after he’d kissed you under the mistletoe, and that was it. It was like a promise that each Christmas would be for the two of you, to celebrate each other and not just the holiday.
You lept to your feet, the phone almost dropped as you grabbed a pair of shoes.
“-{y/n} are you even listening to me? What are you doing?”
“I need to leave Jae. I need to go.” You tell him in a rushed tone.
“Go where?”
“Where am I going? Crazy. Wanna come?”
“No thanks.” Jae sniggers. “Now seriously, about the song-”
“Tell Wonpil that a little bit of excitement won’t hurt anyone. Your song idea sounds great. Now, if you don’t mind, I have a train to catch.” You’re breathless from grabbing things and the adrenaline wasn’t letting up anytime soon. You had to go.
“Okay crazy, I’ll call you tomorrow alright. Send Dowoon my love.”
“That’s if he’ll take mine first.” You mumbled.
“What was that?”
“Nothing! See you soon!”
The air was cold, it nipped against you in icy touches but it wasn’t enough to stop you from paying the taxi driver you’d flagged on the main street. You rushed inside the train station, you couldn’t stop your legs from racing the same way you couldn’t stop your racing heart.
“I need the next train to Busan.” You spoke incredibly fast, and it was a wonder that the man behind the desk had understood your mass of words.
“Next train to Busan will be in ten minutes. You’re in luck, it’s the last train, and the only reason it’s coming now is because it was delayed an hour ago.”
You nodded, smiling, but barely listening. You bounced on the balls of your feet until he gave you your ticket. You called a thank you, and a good bye as you raced down to the platform.
It felt colder now, somehow. You held the yellow hoodie closer to you, your pace slowing now you were securely on the platform. All you needed now was the train, and an apology and-
“{y/n}...”
You looked up, Dowoon stood before you, he looked tired, mildly pissed off. “What are you doing?”
“Dowoon you’re right. I’m sorry. If it’s not too late… I uh, I bought a train ticket. Why are you still here? Didn’t you catch an earlier train?”
Dowoon smiled, “It got delayed, but I guess that isn’t a bad thing now you’re here.”
You shuffled closer, wrapped your arms around him and shivered. “I’m sorry. I love you.”
He wrapped his arms around you too, leaning his chin on the top of your head. “I love you too, {y/n}.”
a/n: I combined two requests by anons #49 (Safety first, how old are you? Five?) and #59 (”I could punch you right now.”) to create this one drabble. I thought they fit well together so I hope you don’t mind too much.Â
“Safety first, what are you? Five?”
You tapped your foot expectantly against the pavement, your eyes peircing like a hawk. Jae doesn’t fall under your efforts to intimidate him, instead, he pushes the helmet closer to you.
“Put it on, before I put it on for you.” He threatens you back with an equal amount of attitude you gave to him.
You stare at each other for a long moment, then, you sigh. “Fine.”
He grins, his mouth extending like one you’d see on the cheshire cat. Then, he passes you the helmet, and watches with a satisfied expression as you clip it over your perfect hair you’d spent a good half an hour working on that morning. Not that it mattered now. You huffed again.
“My hair is going to be ruined.”
“Well, if you don’t wear the helmet and fall, your hair will be the worst of your worries sweetheart.”
“Don’t call me sweetheart.”
“Sorry babe.”
“Or that.”
“Okay love.”
You groan, snatching the skateboard from your best friend and dropping it against the floor a little less gently than he’d have liked. You smirked at the way he visibly flinched at the lack of care you were treating his skateboard with. Of course he was joking, and so were you, and if you did manage to break his skateboard (highly unlikely) you would always replace it for him (however much he’d protest.)
“Hurt my skateboard, and you’ll be thankful you have that fucking helmet on.” He stated, jokingly, or at least somewhat jokingly.
He took your hands as you steadied yourself.
“I can’t do this Jae, I’m going to fall.”
“You’re not going to fall, I won’t let you.”
“I’m going to fucking fall!” You grip his hands tightly as he starts walking sideways, holding onto you as the skateboard moved underneath your feet.
“Relax, will you? I told you, I won’t let you fall.”
He keeps walking, and it starts to feel more comfortable, you’re finding your feet. Then, like a child learning how to ride a bike, Jae let’s go, and you do nearly fall.
Nearly.
You wrap your arms around his neck and collapse into his body. He holds you there, his arms snaking around you protectively as he howls with laughter. “You were supposed to keep going!”
“I told you I was going to fall!”
“Fall for me, yeah?” He winked, and that’s when it became apparent to you how close you really were.
Stomachs pressed together, your arms around each other, faces inches apart. It starts to feel very warm all of a sudden as the heat rushes to your cheeks.
“See, you’re so flustered you can’t even respond.” He grins again, and you shake your head.
“You’re unbelievable.”
“Why? Because I’m too perfect to comprehend? Don’t worry sweetheart, I know.”
“I could punch you right now.”
“Is that so you can kiss it better afterwards?”
That time you really were rendered speechless.
“Aw, don’t be embarrassed. Here, let me help you out here. I really like you too.” Jae states, it’s so confident that you’re almost blown away by the smoothness of it. There was no hesitation, no doubt in his voice, it was like he knew what he wanted and there wasn’t anything that was going to stop him from trying to get it.
“I like you too.” Is all you're able to utter in response.
And then like a man in a movie, he leans in and kisses you, still holding you in his arms, the gentle sound of the skateboard rolling on the gravel and the wind whistling in the trees are the only sounds you can tune in.
And it’s not something you’re going to be able to forget for a very long time.
