               HEAD  POKES  OUT  FROM  THE  MAINTENANCE  CONDUIT  SHE’S  LYING  IN  at  the  sound  of  someone  else  walking  past.  she’s  been  trying  to  figure  out  this  security  system  with  little  luck     (   ghostbusters  new  on  the  station  she  not  granted  SECURITY  CLEARANCE  yet   //   which  normally  wouldn’t  be  a  problem  but  she’s  not  seen  anything  like  this  station  before   ).     does  her  best  to  read  rank  insignia  upside  down.     “   lieutenant   !   ”     hand  sticks  out     (   still  not  flipping  the  right  way  ‘round ,  unwilling  to  move  from  where  she’s  lying  on  her  back   ).     “   dr.  jillian  holtzmann  ——  i’m  with  the  GHOSTBUSTERS ,  doing  a  lil’  proofing  on  your  system  but  there’s  some  pretty  CONFUSING  stuff  in  here.  you  wanna  help  me  out   ?   ”

Dax! I swear you are going out the airlock with the next one!"

               “   JADZIAAAAAA ...   ”     features  take  on  a  COMICAL  frown ,  long  pause  held  as  if  he’s  not  sure  whether  he  should  be  saying  this  or  now.  he  finishes  what’s  left  of  his  drink  and  that  seems  to  make  the  decision  FOR  him ,  props  his  head  up  on  his  hand  as  he  squints  at  her.  his  usual  filter  DISSOLVED  by  alcohol.     “   i  worry  sometimes  you  don’t  LIKE  ME.   ”

Tensions were running high on the station due to looming Dominion threats, and she had really needed to hit something. At first she'd laughed it off when Jadzia had suggested the Holosuite, it's what she and Benjamin did to blow off steam, hitting a punching bag. Maybe that wasn’t such a bad idea? There would be no creepy holosuite men because it would be just the two of them. They hadn’t had much time for much outside Ops together, other than a cup of coffee in the morning where they almost always got called to head to Ops early. So it had taken her less time than usual to cave in, she missed her friend’s company in a more casual manner. Frankly, it didn’t take as much convincing to go along with one of Dax’s ideas as she let on. The pair had grown so close. Jadzia had somehow weaseled her way into Kira’s personal business, a place she hardly showed to anyone. It was too dangerous to let anyone in, she had had enough of loss. But Dax was paicent, and kind. The Commander always left room for Kira to say no, to change her mind, to back out of plans without much of an explanation. There were no obligations, and aside from kindness in return there were no expectations. She felt safe with Dax around, which was something very important to her. Sometimes she thought she liked the other woman a little too much but she was scared to thinking about what exactly would mean. Her best friend was so charming, such a great listener, extremely intelligent. She was so caught up in her thoughts she hadn’t realized she was already at the Holosuite that was reserved for them. “Dax! You were here early, so before you say it, this doesn’t make me late!” Nerys laughed knowing fully well what snarky comment she was about to get. “Okay, so how does this work? Are you going to show me how to hit the punching bag? Or are we going to trade one on one combat strategies, like women? I have a question for you actually, why do all of you Starfleet types do the same stupid double fist punching moves? It’s really hard not to laugh during a fight when all of you are doing the exact same thing!”  [ @daxisms ]
