Your Dad got out of the car in complete silence, his jaw was tense, and he had the same look he got when he was planning something. You frowned at him; he’d been nearly silent the whole car journey back to the motel. The hunt was easy enough for you, you’d been too busy patching up one of the victim’s stab wounds to help your Dad fight off the demon in the other room. By the time you’d got the victim to safety your Dad was at the car ready to go. Said it was an easy kill.
Uncle Dean hadn’t come on the hunt, he was helping Jody and Claire out with a vamp’s nest just the other side of the town. Sometimes there was more than one monster that needed taking care of, so you had to split.
“Dad?” You asked, following him into the motel.
“Mm.” He didn’t bother to look up from his phone, where he was busy reading through some texts. His voice was careless.
“You want me to get some food?”
“No,” he snapped, looking up, “no you-uh, we shouldn’t leave.”
“Why? I’m starving.” You tried to keep your relaxed tone, but you were panicking a little. Your Dad seemed off.
“It’s uh, not safe.” He said decisively, as though that was enough.
“But we just killed the demon…” You trailed off so only you could hear yourself. Shit.
Carefully, so as not to raise suspicion, you took out your phone and texted Uncle Dean: Dad’s possessed. At the motel. Bring holy water. You then switched your phone so it wouldn’t make a sound when he replied.
“What are you doing?” Your Dad asked and you felt your heart rate jump.
“Ordering food. That’s allowed, right?” You tried to laugh. He smiled, but his expression carried disdain.
“Hey uh,” You looked up from your phone, about to suggest something else to try and by Uncle Dean some time, but you stopped dead, “…Dad?”
He was holding out his gun, his expression a snarky smirk, “Oh, what’s the matter?”
You were frozen, held in place by the thoughts racing through your mind. Fighting your Dad was risky for the both of you. You had to stay alive, but you couldn’t kill your Dad. And there was no way you could hold him off forever, he was stronger than you. Before you could come to any sort of conclusion, he leaped forward.
Instinctively, you slid to the left and swiped his arm away, ducking backwards an out of harm’s way. “Oh, you’re stronger than you look,” the demon spoke through your Dad with an echo of amusement, “I like a good fight.” His eyes flickered to a blackened void.
“What do you want?” You shouted at him, but you could feel your voice shaking.
He laughed loudly, “I just want to see the look on your face when your own Daddy kills you.”
You blocked a punch, sending both arms away. He took the opportunity of an unprotected stomach and kicked you to the floor. You felt his foot crack a rib and groaned as pain pulsed from where he’d hit.
“And then,” he continued, “I want to see the look on your Dad’s face when I let him go and he has to live with what he’s done.”
You needed him weak enough for the exorcism to work, but hitting him would hurt your Dad, and not even make a dent in the demon. You needed holy water, which of course was all used up on the hunt. Flickering your eyes to the window, you silently begged for Uncle Dean to hurry his ass up.
“Oh, poor, Y/N. No ones coming to rescue you.”
“Who say’s I need rescuing?” You challenged, slowly stepping back. Thankfully, this demon seemed to love talking. He laughed again, but then a cold sincerity spread across his face.
“If only you could hear your Dad, girl. He’s screaming in here. Oh he really doesn’t want me to do this,” he grinned, “torturing two Winchesters at once, hey? That’s certainly a treat.”
While he was busy ranting away you snapped your hand out onto his wrist, making him drop the gun, which you kicked away behind yourself. You might have not been as strong as your Dad, but you were much quicker.
He raised an eyebrow and then began striding towards you. With each pace his anger grew and before you could properly get away, he grabbed at your arm, his fingers digging harshly into the skin. He tugged you so you were facing him. Holding back a yelp, you desperately tried to keep your cool. You scrambled in his grasp, but his hold on you tightened as he brought his spare hand to your face, holding your gaze.
“Scared yet?” He grinned.
It was surreal, having your Dad’s face this close to you, but instead of his usual demeanour he was thirsty for blood. The demon flashed it’s demonic eyes at your gaze.
“Your Daddy and Uncle are gonna thank me after this, you know? They must spend half of their hunts having to save you or waiting around for you to catch up or thinking, hm, what should we do with this dead weight?” He snarled and shook you as he shouted.
“I’m going to enjoy killing you. Partly because then maybe your Dad would shut the hell up!” He screamed, looking upwards, where your Dad had been begging for him to stop. The instant his eyes were off you, you kicked him away from yourself and leapt up. You then grabbed the gun before he had a chance.
“What are you gonna shoot me?” He chuckled slyly.
You had a thought. A very, very, stupid thought. But it would definitely buy Uncle Dean more time.
You held the gun up, checking it was loaded and ready to shoot.
“You won’t do it!” He dared.
“I know.” You said finally, shooting him a daring look back. Your Dad tilted his head, as though trying to figure out what was going through your mind. You threw caution away and nodded slowly to yourself. Here goes nothing.
Slowly, you rose the gun so it was pointed at your temple. You watched with a strange mixture of pride and terror as your Dad’s face dropped.
“You’re giving up? That easy?” He asked and regained his pride.
“No, but if I shoot. You miss out on all the fun.”
He stuttered, “I don’t care how you die. I just want you dead.”
“Are you sure?” you taunted, “That’s a pretty boring story to tell all your demon friends, huh? You can’t even manage to kill a small human, so she has to do it herself. Is that really going to earn you that reputation you’re after?”
“But you’re not going to do it.” Although his voice was confident, his face was sceptical.
“Aren’t I?” You pushed, hearing the tyres of the Impala outside. Or at least, what you hoped was the Impala.
He took a step forward and you reached out a hand, “One more step! One more and I pull this trigger.”
You could feel the tip of the barrel pressing into your head like an hourglass. Your heart was beating hard against your chest and you could feel each breath timing your chances. Your Dad hovered, unsure…no, not unsure. Something else. It was like he couldn’t move.
He cried out “Stop! Stop fighting!” at himself and groaned in pain. His eyes squeezed shut tightly and you saw a tear trickle from the corner of his eye. But in time, he shook his head and gruffly laughed, “Your Dad’s very feisty. I can see where you get it from.”
He readjusted himself and put a foot out to take that step. That one step that distanced you from death.
Just as you registered what he was about to do, the motel door was thrown open and Uncle Dean raced inside. You let out one shaky breath and thanked every God there possibly was, throwing your arms back down and hurrying over to your Uncle who threw a bottle of holy water over your Dad. He hissed as the vapours rose from his body, sizzling off the skin, making him weak enough to exorcise.
You and Uncle Dean recited the exorcism, each taking turns dodging attacks and fighting him, but he was becoming weaker and weaker. Finally, he screamed in pain and the demon escaped, black smoke rising from him before he collapsed to the floor.
“Dad!” You raced over to him. He was out cold.
“Hey, kiddo. You okay?” Uncle Dean looked at you, holding you up a little. He noticed you were hunched over from where your Dad had kicked you.
“Yeah, I’m okay.” You barely looked at him as you tried to prop your Dad up so he was against the wall. He grunted and blinked his eyes open, taking his hand over to his broken wrist where you’d kicked him.
“Sorry about your wrist…” You winced, watching as he ran his fingers over the bruises.
“I’ll get the med kit.” Uncle Dean mumbled. He then rose up and headed out to the car.
Your Dad looked up at you, his eyes were back to his gentle expression. He smiled softly.
“I’m sorry, bug.” He whispered. You offered a weak smile in return.
“You weren’t…you weren’t gonna do it, were you? You knew Dean was coming?”
“I knew.” You said, reassuring his feared expression.
“Thank God.” He rose his healthy hand up to cup your face let out a sigh, “Did I hurt you?”
You ran your hand over where the blood had dried on your face and shook your head, “nothing I’m not used to.”
“Don’t scare me like that, okay? I can’t…I can’t lose you, kid.”
You felt pangs of guilt as his eyes teared up, his voice a whisper as he trailed off.
“Sorry. I just didn’t know how to buy time without hurting you,” you glanced down at his wrist and added, “or at least, without hurting you anymore.”
“If it keeps you safe, you hurt me, okay? Whatever keeps you safe.”
“Okay.” You nodded, but the two of you both knew you didn’t mean it.
He reached out his arm around your frame and pulled you into his chest, rubbing his hand along your upper arm, “whatever keeps you safe.”

A/N: There will be one more part after this in the Huntress series
“Okay so let me get this straight, we beat the Brits, kick their smug, tea-swirling asses -no offence Y/N- and instead of finally catching a break we get Lucifer?!” Uncle Dean sighed, pacing about the bunker while you sat with your Dad and Mary. You looked up from your mug of tea, glaring at him over the rim before turning your attention to the photographs your Dad had printed.
“You’re sure that’s him?” Mary asked.
“Yeah I’m sure.” Dad nodded, not looking at them for too long. It was Lucifer, alright.
“In his old vessel?” You asked.
“Yeah...”“How’s that possible?” Mary took a photograph from the table and studied it.
“Kelly I guess...” Dad shrugged.
“So what do we do?” You said, putting your tea down and sitting back in your chair.
“Well,” Dad cleared his throat, “Rowena can slam Lucifer back in the cage.”
“Great,” said Mary, “where is she?”
Dad picked up his phone almost immediately, standing up from the table as he did so. You all watched in anticipation as he held the phone to his ear. He rose his head, his eyes pacing the room. He then breathed a sharp breath and looked to Uncle Dean who shot him a frown: “What?”
Dad put the phone on speaker and held it up so you could all hear.
Then came a voice: “Oh and if you’re looking for Rowena she is presently indisposed which is a delicate way of saying I stomped on her face till the white meat showed and then stomped on her face just in case,” Lucifers voice sounded as smug as usual, “uh...it was messy. Screamy. Had to be done, though. I’m about to be a Dad! Can’t raise a kid from a cell, can I? Speaking of, any idea where Castiel is?”
“Go to hell.” Dad snapped.
“Oh good one! Let me write that down.”
“Look-“ Dean cleated his throat, but was interrupted.
“Oh, hey Dean! I know I know you guys are gonna want to kill me but you’ve never done it and you never will. Especially now Rowena is gone,” he paused, but none of you had anything to say, “catch you guys later!”
You all fell silent with the phone, aware he was right, but not wanting to admit it.You sucked it up and spoke, “He’s got a point.”
Dad threw you a look you couldn’t quite read, but composed himself and said, “Okay, so we just have to keep Cas and Kelly moving. Lucifer can’t hurt them if he can’t find them.”
“And Cas will go along with that?” Mary asked, sounding unconvinced.
“We won’t give him a choice.” Uncle Dean said sternly.
You frowned with concern, “What he means is we’ll figure something out by talking it through with them.” You corrected, not willing to make any more causes for tension.
“Right.” Dad nodded.
“How do we find them?” Mary turned to your Dad.
“There will be signs: locust plagues, freak storms things like that.”
“Okay so we’re looking for something weird.” Mary said unenthusiastically.
“Story of our lives.” Uncle Dean huffed.
——————
You all sat back around the table, researching on phones and laptops to find anything weird.
“What about this?” Uncle Dean held up a news report about a three-headed calf being born.
You chuckled, “Poor mother.” which made him cringe.
“Not biblical.” Dad muttered, not looking up from his tablet.
“You rang?” Crowley spoke up from now where, appearing at the table. Before you could even take him in, Uncle Dean launched himself at him, punching him square in the jaw and sending him flying.
“Did you do it?!” Uncle Dean shouted, holding a demon-blade to his throat, “Did you let Lucifer out of the cage?”
“I didn’t let-“
“Tell me!” Uncle Dean pushed, shaking Crowley by the collar.
“Dean, wait! Don’t kill him.” Dad put a hand out.
“Seriously?” Mary raised an eyebrow.
“He wrote the cage spell with Rowena,” you nodded in understanding, “he could help.”
“What if he can’t?” Mary asked, eager to put an end to Crowley.
“Well then we kill him.” Dad said, making Crowley’s eyes widen as Uncle Dean loosened his grip.
Crowley stood himself up when Uncle Dean let go, patting his coat down. He swivelled his head a little and cleared his throat, aware you were all waiting for what he had to say and making the most of that small amount of control.
“I put Lucifer in a vessel of my own making. I had to win. Too damn many people have been after my throne. I put the Devil on a leash to show everyone not to mess with me.” Crowley explained.
“Worked out well.” Uncle Dean scoffed.
“And then I narrowly escaped death,” Crowley paused and eyed you all, “by hiding in a rat.”
“Must have been nice being clean for a change.” You remarked, earning a smirk from the others.
“Gave me a break from my work,” Crowley continued, ignoring your comment, “made me realise just how much I hate it. The constant stupid questions the mountains and mountains of paperwork, who wants that? Not me. Not anymore.”
“So you decided to hide in a rodent?” Mary asked.
“I placed my bets. The Winchester’s come out on top. And I can help, after we put Lucifer in the cage I’ll seal the gates and you’ll never see another demon again...except me, of course. Do we have a deal?”
You looked to your Dad who you could see was thinking it through, analysing the pros and cons in his mind. Uncle Dean looked as suspicious as always, but Mary was harder to read.
“Okay, fine. But you stay here and you keep quiet.” Uncle Dean lurched forward and slammed a demon blade into Crowley’s hand. It pierced through his skin and into the table, holding his arm in place. Crowley grunted and scowled, watching as you all stood up to gather your things.
Your Dad gave you the same look and you realised he wanted you to stay back. You sighed to yourself, waiting till Mary and Uncle Dean had left the room. Dad gave you a tight smile before saying what you’d been expecting, “I need you to stay back.” He placed an arm gently on your back and guided you to where Crowley could no longer see or hear.
You shuffled on your feet and attempted to find something convincing or witty to say, but you just stayed quiet with your eyes fixed on the floor.
“Y/N, I need you to be safe. Make sure Crowley doesn’t get up to anything.”
“How many times are we gonna have these conversations?” You asked, “How many times do I have to save your ass or let you save mine before you realise I’m a Hunter too?”
“That’s not what I meant-“
“I’m not giving up on the last hurdle, Dad.”
“It’s just with your powers and everything, we don’t know what’ll happen. I can’t risk you being in more danger because we don’t take them seriously.“
“Do you want me to sit around and panic because I don’t know if I’ll see my family again? You want me to spend the rest of my life knowing I could’ve helped or died trying to save them if only I’d have come with you all?”
“We don’t plan on dying.“
“And I don’t plan on waiting to find out if you do,” your voice went quiet and your eyes teared up, “I’m sick of people not coming back.“
Dad’s expression and stance softened, he let out a sigh and gently wrapped his arms around your frame. Placing a kiss on the top of your head, he gently rubbed your upper arm with his thumb.“Okay,” he nodded against you, “but you be careful.”
——————
The drive was quiet, everyone consumed by their own thoughts of what might happen. Mary seemed restless, loading and unloading and then reloading her gun in the seat next to you. Dad didn’t look away from the window the entire time, careful not to miss anything, just in case. Uncle Dean watched the road and played no music. And you, you watched the three of them, wondering how you’d ended up here. If anyone had told you a few years back that you’d be driving with your Dad, Uncle and Grandma to a house where there’s an angel helping the presidents girlfriend to have her half-human, half-angel, son-of-Lucifer child you would have laughed in their face. And yet there you were.
When you pulled up outside the house you couldn’t help but admire the scenery despite the situation. It was one of those American lakehouses from the films, with little wooden steps outside and a bungalow-type house just sat comfortably amongst the greenery. The sort of building that should look out of place, but it just works. But, this wasn’t the time to sit and stare, so you got out of the car, noticing how Uncle Dean had almost made it to the door by the time you were out. You followed on, seeing Cas in his usual attire look astonished at your arrival.
“Dean?” Cas said in shock, glancing at the rest of you before turning his attention back to Uncle Dean.
“Look, Cas, is this place heavily warded?”
“Of course.”
“Enough to ward of Lucifer?” Dad added.
“Lucifer?” Cas echoed with wide eyes.
“Look, you and Kelly taking off was a stupid move. There’s no way Lucifer can get his hands on that kid.” Dad said sternly.
“Kelly can’t be moved, she’s in labour.” Cas explained, accompanied by Kelly crying out in pain.
Mary turned her head to where the noise had come from and stumbled over her words, “I’ll go make sure she’s okay.”
“How much time do we have?” Cas asked, turning back to look at you.
“We don’t know.” You shrugged.
Dean then groaned in pain, doubling over as he held his bad knee.
“Wait, Dean, let me.” Cas began to heal Dean, but something else caught your eye and a low hum of whispers surrounded your thoughts. A bright shining light, as though a line had been cut through the Earth was stood up on its end just outside. And, as insane as it sounded, it was calling to you. The whispers were seemingly nonsense, inaudible syllables of a dead language, but they were definitely calling you.
You felt your head pulsate with some sort of energy and began to walk towards the light. It was shining and had some movement.
Footsteps sounded as they came to see what you were looking at. Dad and Uncle Dean took a step back and Dad put a hand on your shoulder as though he knew what he was protecting you from. The moment his hand touched you the voices left and it was just a light, no sound came from it.
“What is it?” You stammered, glancing back to Cas, but finding your eyes unable to look away.
“It’s a rip in time and space.” Cas explained.
“Like a doorway?” You asked, taking another step forward and ignoring your Dads hold on you. Sure enough, the sounds came back. Perhaps because you were much closer they became louder, an endless chorus that rebounded inside your mind. You could still hear everything else, but it felt secondary.
“B-Be careful.” Dad said in vain as you circled the light.
“Exactly like a doorway. Only to an alternate reality.” Cas replies.
“Where did it come from?” You said, unsure if the words came out right as you could only just hear your own voice.
“Well with the nephilim being brought into the world there’s been an abundance of cosmic energies. The odd rip is bound to happen.”
As though your feet had decided before your mind, you found yourself walking towards the rip, the faint shouts of Dad in your ear as you passed through.
——————
You were met with a grey landscape, bodies scattered about the place in the same way leaves are in the autumn. There were areas where smoke was rising from a bundle of twigs. The floor was a harsh sandy texture, no doubt consisting of rubble and decaying parts of the Earth.
But, before you could properly take in the place, you felt your powers. You felt them the same way you had done when you’d gotten angry or when you saved Uncle Dean in the tunnel. Only this time it wasn’t a surge of energy that was gone before you could properly grasp it. Instead, it was a continuous level of something and it was powerful. It felt as though you’d finally understood how to control what these were.
You rose your fingers, concentrating on a cloud of smoke. As you danced your hand around the smoke followed suit, putting itself out as you rubbed your finger tips together. You couldn’t help but smile.
“Y/N!” Dad hissed, making you drop your smile and lower your hand, “what the hell were you thinking?!”
“Sorry...” You looked down, not sure whether to mention what had happened. You coughed a little and decided to keep quiet, after all, it didn’t seem like the time.
“This Earth is caught in an eternal war between heaven and hell with few humans left behind,” Cas explained, “the child opened this door and he can close it. I have faith.”
“Well then you’re a dumbass.” Uncle Dean scoffed before jumping into action, “Guys!” He pointed to where a small number of people were headed towards you. They were heavily armed.Dad and Uncle Dean aimed their guns, but you just watched.
Cas held his arms up, “Stop. Don’t shoot.” One man who was a few feet ahead of the others came to a halt, he lowered his face cover and tilted his head. You looked to Uncle Dean who immediately lowered his gun.
With a shocked face he stammered, “Bobby?”
“Do I know you?” The man grumbled.
“Bobby,” Dad said in awe, “it’s us. Sam and Dean. Winchester.”
You remembered your Dad mentioning a Bobby before, Bobby Singer. Any time he came up in conversation they spoke as though he raised them, as though he’d be proud of them if he could see them now.
“Winchester?” This Bobby repeated in thought, “the only Winchester I ever knew was John.“
“Yeah our father.” Uncle Dean pushed.
“Doubt it. He died 40 years ago,” he looked at you suspiciously, “you don’t get many kids round here. Take care of her.”
“She can take care of herself, thanks.” You remarked.
“Good.” He said, his tone making it hard to tell if it was a compliment or not. You decided to take it as one.
“The hell is this place?” Dad turned to Cas.
Cas sighed, “This is Earth where you two were never born. A world you never saved.”
——————
Going back through the door to your world wasn’t as simple as coming through, at least, not for you it wasn’t. The moment you came into contact with the rip the voices flooded your mind and you clutched your head in pain. They were no longer calling you to come, but to stay. With every step they became angrier and louder and you could feel the blood throbbing in your brain and chest as you began to sway. They screamed in your mind, clawing away at you in a desperate attempt to keep you in that otherworld. You could just about see your world and with one last burst of effort, you stumbled through and fell faint.
You woke to the house empty. Not just of people, but of furniture and sound and colour. It was empty. Rising from the cold floorboards, you pulled the hair from covering your eyes.
The crunch of footsteps along the stone path sounded, making you jump into action as you followed the sound.
“Dad?” You called, your voice shaking a little as you turned the corner.
It was’t Dad...you’d come face to face with Lucifer. And he was smiling right at you. You gulped and took a step back, aware there were no weapons on you.
“Wh-“ You paused, not sure what to say.
“Well,” he said, “this is a fun surprise. I gotta hand it to you guys you never give up. Even when you really should.”
You frowned a little at the use of “guys”, but spoke anyway, “What do you want?”
He chuckled,” You’re right. What should I do? Oh God don’t strike me down! Sam, you gotta stop with the lines.”
“What?” You said in confusion, starting to wonder if he had lost it. You turned around to check the others weren’t behind you, and sure enough you were greeted with the same cold and empty house.
“Start with the classics.” He shrugged, turning to face someone who should’ve been beside you.
You took a piece of courage and walked right in front of him, “Hey!”
He didn’t even blink. You let out a chuckle in spite of yourself, giving him the middle finger, partly to test if he could see you, but mostly because it was a good opportunity.
“Well boys, enough of the foreplay. Let’s do this.”
He threw an arm up as though casting his powers onto someone, his arm going straight through you. Your smirk fell from your face when you felt his power shaking through your bones.
“Real mature,” He tutted, starting to walk to the side of the house, “look boys I’m on the clock, haven’t got all day.”
You watched him go, more focused than before, quickly following after him. When you’d reached the corner the rip in time was back, but no voices accompanied it’s presence.
“The fuck...” You muttered, following him through.
As you did you were back in the apocalypse-world.
“Interesting.” You said, still chasing after the Devil.
“Sammy, hey! Where’s your big bro?” Lucifer asked the air.
You tried to follow what was going on, but that was too difficult when you could only see or hear one of them.
However, it seemed like you had a pretty good grasp of powers in this world. And, this was Lucifer. He had no idea you were there. If this wasn’t an opportunity, then what the hell was?
You jumped, taken away from your thoughts, when Lucifer began to shake and stumble backwards. His chest was filled with bullet holes but no bullets appeared to be there. You realised this meant he was winning. Which also meant your family was in danger.
You concentrated hard, willing with all your might, and launched yourself at the devil, your hand turning to a fist as you braced for impact. Instead of his face, you hit the floor straight on and let out a groan. Your hand twisted a little as you did so, spraining the wrist and sending jolts of pain up your arm.
“Well shit,” you grumbled, wincing as you pulled yourself off the ground, “let’s try that again.”
Lucifer began to move forward and began hitting and punching and kicking someone. “Come on, Dean!” He shouted aggravatingly.
This time you felt of your Dad’s fear, your Uncle’s anger and Cas’ protection over this child. You felt Mary’s desperation to keep her boys safe and you felt your eagerness to show everyone you were capable.
You let out a cry and with all your power you pelted the devil square in the face.
“Shit!” You shouted on impact, feeling the sprain scream along your hand and arm. You rubbed the wrist with your other hand and watched as Lucifer stumbled in pure shock.
He spoke up after composing himself, “Woah! Who’s this?!”
Dean must have been just as confused as he continued by saying, “No seriously who is this?”
You smiled and went for a kick to the stomach, making him double over as he did so. Without a dominant hand you went for the shins and the crotch. This had to be buying them time at the very least, right?
You felt your powers grow and grow. A surge of energy manifested into lightening as they began to strike down on Lucifer, targeting him and his surroundings. You felt the impact of them on the ground, rumbling the landscape as they crashed into the rubble.
Lucifer scrambled to his feet and looked around to try and locate you. You let your pride take over and just a flicker of reality flashed in front of you. The lightening ceased and you caught a glimpse of Dean who turned his attention to you in amazement. You felt Lucifer’s glare on you. But Dean was gone again and so were you.
“Y/N?” Lucifer called as he turned to try and find you again, “I saw you! As in Sam’s little baby girl? Well I gotta say this is impressive. You pack quite a punch.” He began to move about the place as if surveying for another glimpse of wherever you were. You moved from where you had been, careful not to abuse your powers to the point where you show yourself again.
Through no doing of your own, Lucifer fell to the floor with a flash of red that reminded you of the alarms of the bunker.
To your suprise, he chuckled, “Crowley!”
You sighed in relief and backed away, realising they were going to seal the doorway. Crowley must have almost completed the spell by now.
“Come on Crowley, you realise whatever you try you’re gonna lose.” Lucifer smirked.
Just as he said this Crowley appeared in your vision, making you jump back in suprise. His body flashed and collapsed to the ground. You noticed from his stance, realising he must have stabbed himself with the demon-blade.
He lay still and Lucifer, for once, looked as shocked as you.
You tore tour eyes from the body, remembering the plan to lock Lucifer in, and raced to the light in time to get back. You felt the warmth and energy of the doorway as you ran through it’s break in space.
——————
You gasped, sitting up in panic and breathing heavy.
“Y/N? Hey, you okay?” Mary called, she was sat with Kelly in the bed next to you. Kelly has sweat pouring down her forehead and was screaming in pain. You winced sympathetically before jumping from the bed, managing a nod to them as you raced to where the light was. Your head throbbed and your hand felt swollen and bruised, but you had to make sure they made it back.
You watched as Dad and Uncle Dean staggered out of the other-world. Their eyes fell on you, your Dad racing over the moment he caught his balance.
“Hey, hey. You okay?”
“How the hell did you do that?” Uncle Dean asked, but you couldn’t even begin to describe it.
“...Not sure.” You admitted, watching where the light was fading and unable to look away. Cas appeared just then, breathing heavily and bruised.
Before anyone could react a hand shot from out of the rip, sending an angel-blade straight into Cas’ chest.
“No!” Uncle Dean shouted in panic.
You gasped, tears forming in your eyes as you watched your friend fall to the floor. Lucifer was stood proudly behind him.
Cas was limp and lifeless.
You saw Mary appear at your sides in your peripheral vision and reluctantly looked away from Cas. Mary threw you a sad smile before turning to each of you.
.“I love you.” She said, taking her last look.
Then you realised what she was going to do.
Just as the light began to flicker away, Mary grabbed hold of Lucifer by the collar and shoved him back through the doorway, taking herself with him. “Mom!” Dad and Uncle Dean cried, sprinting after her.
You watched as the light faded away to nothing, leaving behind a seamless landscape as though it was never there. The two of them halted in front of where it had been, unable to doing anything. Dad composed himself as much as he could and ran back to the house, no doubt to check on Kelly.
You watched with teary eyes as your Uncle fell to his knees over his friend, his back hunched in mourning.
“De?” You whispered gingerly, taking a step towards where he knelt.
“Don’t,” he snapped, not even looking up from Cas’ lifeless body, “just go.”
Your feet began to backtrack and a few tears fell down your cheeks, but you couldn’t leave him like that. Even if he told you to.
Instead, you knelt down next to him, resting your head on his shoulder and softly whispering, “No.”
Uncle Dean turned and glared at you, but his eyes began to water and his lip trembled. He saw the tears running down your crestfallen face and let his tough gaze soften away to honesty.
With a helpless breath in, he softly sighed, wrapped his arms around you, pulled you in close and rested his chin gently on the top of your head as he tried not to shake.

“There’s gotta be a way out.” Uncle Dean said firmly to the room. He’d found the control panel and was switching all the lights that he could back on, revealing the empty hallways. Toni was on the steps, slightly higher than the rest of you as though putting on some sort of authoritarian presence would help in this kind of situation.
You’d sunk to the floor, trying to clean up your wound with the first aid kit even though your Dad had told you to wait for him. He came in, shooting frowning at you, he had a cloth and a spare sweatshirt. “Hey, I got it.” He said gently, kneeling down and taking over.
You threw your head back against the wall and sighed, “She didn’t mean to miss.”
“What?”
“Mary, she aimed to kill. I just ducked quickly.” You said, not really sure what your point was.
“She’s not herself, you know that?”
“Oh Y/N knows that better than anyone.” Toni cut in.
“Alright alright,” Uncle Dean waved her away, “come on. Let’s think. Uh…air vents?”
“There’s choke points, not even I could squeeze through.” Toni dismissed.
“Okay,” Uncle Dean nodded, “well then how about we just kill you.”
“I’ll do it.” You said, offering Toni a sickly-sweet smile.
Toni glared back, “Mummy would be so proud.”
“Seriously, you heard what Ketch said,” Dean continued, “we’ve got three days of air. Killing her might buy us another day.”
“But you need me,” Toni said, “I’m the only one who can reverse Mary’s treatment.”
“There is no reverse,” You said, “there’s nothing we can do…” You glanced at your Dad sadly and he paused from bandaging, taking a moment to realise just how familiar you were with this sort of thing.
“We’ve progressed since then, Y/N. There’s reverse treatment and it’s not yet too late for Mary. Face it, you need me alive.”
“It won’t work.” Toni said, making you all look up from your books.
“We can use magic to reverse the mechanisms.” Your Dad explained, taking another lore book from the increasing pile.
“Yes,” Toni nodded, “and it won’t work. Ketch will have thought about that and prevented any magic. I know it.”
The bandage on your arm was a little too tight and you kept having to wiggle your fingers to make it more comfortable. The blood loss had made you a little more light headed than would be ideal in this sort of scenario, but you were okay.
You all leaned back from your books in defeat, “Tell me something,” you began, your voice was louder than it usually was and you were holding back rage, “if you’re so fucking smart then you find a way out of here.”
Everyone stared at you, Toni’s face white.
“Not so talkative now, are you?” You taunted, “Listen, if you wanna circle around us making comments at the very least make them useful. Because otherwise you’re just wasting air, okay?”
There was a moment where you thought that was it, that was all anyone was going to say, but Toni said something you weren’t expecting, “You can get us out.”
You glanced over to your Dad and Uncle before looking back at Toni, “What?”
“These powers that you have, you can control them. You can use them to do just about anything. Yes, getting the doors open will be mentally exhausting but it is possible. You can control them, Y/N, focus on getting us out of here.”
“I’m sorry, powers?” Uncle Dean repeated.
“Y/N has similar psychic abilities to what Sam had a few years ago….don’t look so surprised, of course we knew about those. Only, they’ve become enhanced with the introduction of a Nephilim. Some sort of celestial power surge if you will.”
“Like that power up thing that happened to Cas?” Uncle Dean questioned and you shrugged.
“Yeah, but all I’ve done is pass out and unwillingly had visions.” You commented, annoyed you hadn’t realised this earlier.
“You’ve had visions?” Your Dad asked. You didn’t look at him.
“Y/N, I can try and help you. This is our only shot.” Toni said, ignoring your Dad completely.
You looked at your Dad, he had a concerned expression and was fidgeting with his shirt. “This is crazy.” Uncle Dean said before getting up from his chair.
“Again, visions?” Your Dad repeated.
“I don’t know…I saw you three in the car when you were on your way back to the bunker. It just happened.”
Your Dad nodded slowly.
You took a deep breath in and looked at Toni, “Okay, I can try. Dad, Uncle De, you guys should look for other options. We’ve not got long…”
Uncle Dean nodded gently, “Okay, kid.”
Your Dad came over to you and reassured you, “Whatever happens, it’s okay. Alright, bug?”
You nodded. “Yeah, Dad. Thanks.”
Your brain hurt. It was so tired. Exhausted from the blood loss, shaken up from the past few days and practically falling apart over this stupid celestial power crap. And to top it all off, Toni was going to be one of the last people you see. That was great. Just great.
“Just focus on it.” Toni hissed, already getting impatient.
You’d spent hours staring at a pencil trying to move it. It was ridiculous. You felt like Matilda only you weren’t going to be the hero, but the idiot who can see visions of other people across the state by accident but can’t even move a pencil when they try.
The pencil didn’t even look real anymore, almost a 2D imprint on the table. You could scratch it away with a knife if you tried.
“Toni, it’s not gonna work.” You sighed, leaning back in your chair.
This was it- you’d already admitted defeat. On the other hand, Toni had not. “Brooks. We are going to die and you are the only one here who can change that. I refuse to die. Especially surrounded by you…you fools!”
“Oh, you refuse to die, do you? Oh thank goodness! Don’t worry everyone, Toni refuses to die. Good luck with this one, Death.”
“You’re unbelievable.” Toni tutted.
“I’m not the one who spent years of my life lying and cheating, murdering other people and their families all for a job,” you shot up from your seat, “It’s not even a real job! And you didn’t even get it!” You chuckled, angry and fed up. As you rose from your chair, both you and Toni remained unaware of the books on the shelves and the plates and the cups on the tables rising with you. They floated, a few centimetres above their resting place, shaking with you as your rage boiled over.
“Brooks, this isn’t about that. We need to get out of here, it’s not my fault you can’t even move a bloody pencil. You’re pathetic.”
You cried back at her, “I tried! I tried for hours! It’s not going to happen.”
“Fine,” Toni snapped, “I’ll find a way out myself.”
You watched her turn the corner and felt all the anger in you die away, sending you to the floor. If it wasn’t for the crash of everything else falling back with you, you would have stayed knelt. But the overbearing sound raced to your ears and you rose back to your feet, scanning your surroundings. There was crockery and cutlery and pages and pages of books scattered about the floor. Some of the plates were smashed into pieces as unwanted jigsaws. Most of the books landed back shut, but a few were sprawled out, pages bent and creased where they had landed.
Your hands were trembling.
Your ears were ringing.
Your wound pounded with a dull sting.
The pencil was gone.
You stumbled backwards, each breath hitched in your throat and your blood throbbed in your head. In a desperate panic you stammered out an attempt to shout that came out as a barely a whisper: “Dad…”
Dean and I were stood around a pile of blueprints, desperately skimming through the maps of the Bunker, trying to find a loophole in the system or any sort of emergency escape. There was one way out, but the walls were way too thick to break down quick enough, especially with the lack of air.
“How do you think they’re getting on?” I asked Dean, nervously folding down the corner of a page.
“It’s Toni and Y/N, they’re probably killing each other.”
“Dean.”
“Well, you remember how freaked out you were when you had those dreams, Y/N’s probably feeling just the same, if not worse. There’s no way we’re getting out of here that way. I’m sorry, I just don’t think it’s possible. Maybe if we had more time, but we can’t possibly do this in just a couple hours…and frankly, I don’t think Y/N thinks she can either.”
“Yeah,” I nodded, “you’re probably right…I just can’t believe this is how it’s gonna end. After everything. I wish there was a way, even if we could just get Y/N out of here.”
Dean looked at me for a long time, his eyes sad, “Yeah…me too…”
I thought about how unfair this was, about how Y/N had finally escaped those British Men of Letter’s bitches, and that they were still going to be the death of her. The bunker was supposed to be a home, but Ketch was right, it was just another tomb. I could already feel the air getting thin, my breaths were deeper each time and there was a faint exhaustion to atmosphere.
A crash made me and Dean glance up from the maps, it wasn’t just something falling, it was a cacophony of noises only all at once. I leapt from my chair, Dean not far behind and raced to where we’d last left Y/N.
She was on the floor, out cold as though the air had already left her lungs. “Y/N!” I hurried over to where she lay and examined her for any signs of wounds. Other than the one I’d bandaged earlier, she looked unharmed. “Y/N, hey, hey? Y/N, sweetheart, hey. Come on. Wake up, bug.” I panicked, holding her so she was leaning against my chest. She didn’t show any time of waking up, still unconscious. “DEAN!?” I cried out, checking to see if she was still breathing. Her breaths were shallow, but she was breathing.
Dean raced over to us, “Come on, let’s get her to a bed.”
I gently picked up my girl, following Dean down the hallway.
Y/N lay on my bed, her bullet wound looking like a cat scratch, now. Dean had gone to find Toni and figure out what had happened as well as a way out of here. I know I should have been helping them. I know that there was no point being at her side while we had less than a day left for us, but I couldn’t bring myself to.
Her face was pale and my stomach churned.
“I’m sorry, baby girl.” I whispered, moving so I was next to her on the bed and taking her hand in mine.
Her hand was cold and my stomach churned.
Even though she was alive, I couldn’t help but think about how this could be the last time I was going to see her. Unresponsive, unconscious.
“Please wake up,” my voice broke and my lip trembled, “just wake up, Y/N. For your Dad, yeah? Please…”
Dean came in the room. His movements were slow which meant there wasn’t any good news.
“How is she?” He asked, perching on the bed and avoiding both my gaze and where Y/N lay.
“I don’t know.” I admitted, shaking my head.
“She’s a good kid,” Dean said, “and you’re a good Dad.”
I smiled through teary eyes, “And she has a good Uncle.”
Dean smiled back.
We sat in silence, neither wanting to ruin the melancholy moment we were in.
Y/N stirred a little and I adjusted, giving her room to move.
Her eyes opened slowly and she brought her hand to her head, scrunching her face up like she had a headache. I smiled with relief, able to forget for a moment our doom.
“Y/N?” I said, “Oh thank God.”
I let out the breath I’d been holding, “Hey, it’s okay. I’m here.”
She slowly moved so she was sat up against the headboard, looking at both me and Dean.
“You okay, bug?” I asked.
The way she responded was as though her reality was a few seconds behind. “Yeah, I’m okay…” She managed.
Dean looked at her sternly, “You better not be doing that thing where you say you’re okay, but you’re actually not.”
“You meant that thing you always do?” She managed with a smile and I let out a panicked chuckle.
“Shut up.” Dean said, letting himself smile and giving her hand a squeeze.
“What the hell happened?” I asked.
Y/N shrugged and went quiet.
“Hey, uh, Dean, maybe you should go help Toni?” I suggested, shooting him a look that only a brother would understand. He nodded, putting a hand gently on my shoulder as he passed by.
Y/N stared at our surroundings, her face crestfallen and tired. “Everything…fell with me.” She said quietly, picking at the fraying edges of her sleeve.
“What do you mean?”
“I tried…I really tried. But I don’t know what this thing is in me and I just don’t know how to control it…”
“I know you tried, sweetheart. It’s okay.”
“But I couldn’t do it…and Toni was getting mad. I got angry and then something inside me just sort of grew and grew, and then it just went. And everything else…went.”
I frowned, trying to understand or grasp any sort of pattern to what was happening to her. But I couldn’t. I didn’t know what was happening. I was supposed to be the one she went to for help. And I was helpless.
“I don’t know what this is, but we’ll figure it out, okay? It’s what we always do. I promise.” I wrapped my arms around her and held her close to my chest. It wasn’t something I would admit, but we were both more than aware that a promise in this situation was empty. This was our last day.
I held back a sob and pressed a kiss to her head instead.
“We don’t have a way out of here, do we?” Y/N looked up at me with scared eyes and I felt my heart ache with the guilt of a helpless father.
“We’re working on it.” I said. I probably didn’t sound confident at all.
I sat on the bed, my daughter in my arms as though that could protect her from what was coming. As though a barrier of my body was a suitable opponent for a lack of oxygen.
Her timid voice broke the silence. Timid: nothing like what it was when she had shouted at Toni.
“Dad?”
Her voice was so quiet and I clenched my jaw to stop myself from tearing up. I had to be strong for her.
“Yeah, bug?”
“I’m sorry…”
I held her close and shook my head, “No, sweetie. You don’t have anything to be sorry for. I’m so proud of you, you know that? So proud,” My voice broke and a tear escaped, running down my cheek, “and your Mom…she’d be so proud of you.”
She nodded against my hold, “I know, I just feel like I blew it…”
“You didn’t.” I said with certainty.
She sat up and slowly turned her head to the corridor to the back room. I let her go and wiped my eyes before she looked at me.
“…blew it…” She repeated to herself, getting up from the bed and hurrying down the hallway.
“Y/N!?” I followed behind her, confused as to where this was going.
We ended up in one of the backrooms where she moved around the boxes as best she could with only one usable arm, clearly looking for something specific. I tried to help as best I could, but didn’t know what she was looking for.
She then kicked away a box and grinned.
“What is it?” I asked, leaning over to see. In front of her was the grenade launcher, ready to shoot. We’d never actually used it, but Dean would sometimes bring up how desperate he was to fire the thing. I nodded, letting out a laugh of disbelief.
“You’re lunatics,” Toni paced the room with her arms folded over her chest, “this is a colossally stupid idea.”
“Yeah you’re right let’s just suffocate to death and wonder if we could’ve made it out. Sounds a lot safer.” You remarked.
“It’s big, it’s beautiful…and its’ dumb.” Uncle Dean smirked, holding the grenade launcher over his shoulder.
“The explosion could kill us all! You’d bring the whole bloody place crashing down!” Toni continued.
“Yeah.” Uncle Dean smirked.
“Yeah.” Dad nodded.
“Yeah.” You grinned.
“You’re lunatics. Action-movie-loving, cheeseburger-eating, moronic American lunatics!”
“Hope you’re not including me in that.” You smiled sweetly to her as your Dad took her away.
You watched them go, choosing to stay behind with your Uncle and watch in case anything happened. Although mostly because it was really cool and you wanted to watch.
Uncle Dean fired, the moment between the pulling of the trigger and the impact of the grenade was barely a millisecond. There was a mighty explosion where pieces of the place crashed down to the floor, bricks and rubble and dust rained down on the floor, but you could just about make out Uncle Dean clambering into a gap in the wall, coughing at the dust. You raced after him, almost tripping up over the pile of bricks. Their rusty colour was interrupted by streaks of ash and dust.
There was a ladder built into the wall just behind the gap, you glanced up to see your Uncle making his way to the top, shielding your eyes from the falling rubble. Without hesitating, you followed on.
The wounded arm of yours groaned in pain with each tug of your body up the ladder. You winced, but continued on. Luckily, you had made it close enough for him to see you, “Y/N? What the hell are you doing?” He coughed, doing a double take.
“Keep going, old man.” You said, waiting for his foot to move so you could grab the next rung. He shook his head at you, adjusted his grip and turned his head to keep going. As he did so, a rumble of debris made itself known as it fell its way down on top of you both.
“De!” You cried, shooting a hand out over above your head in panic and ducking your head, preparing for impact. The sudden movement made the wound in your arm send a strike of pain along it’s nerves and you whimpered.
Nothing happened for a little too long, making you frown.
“Y/N, how the hell are you doing that?” Uncle Dean said in awe, making you look up.
Where your hand was reached out was the pile of rubble, floating in mid-air, as though in slow motion. “I don’t know…” You stammered out, watching it with both amazement and fear that it could come crashing down at any moment, “De you should go in case it falls.”
“No way, it’ll fall on you.” He said sternly, putting a hand out for you to take. You looked at it, it was covered in dirt and there was a little scratch that had been bleeding.
“If I take my attention away from this it’ll probably fall on both of us. Just go!”
“Y/N take my hand. If we’re lucky the rubble will just fall past us. I think you’ve moved it out of the way a little.”
You hesitated, watching your Uncle’s determined expression: “Y/N!”
Reluctantly, you turned your attention away from the falling objects and grasped hold of your Uncles hand, immediately holding your body as close to the wall as you could in attempt to miss the debris. They fell past, most missing you by a couple of inches, but a few fell onto you both, making cuts and bruises and gashes. The sound was never-ending. One particularly large rock slammed into Uncle Dean’s leg, making him cry out in pain, it’ passed you by but caught the rung you were standing on, knocking it off the wall. You yelped, feeling your weight now relying on nothing to keep you up there.
“I’ve got you!” Uncle Dean assured, his voice just about audible over the crash beneath you. He pulled you up so you were able to grab hold of the next rung which you did. The pain in your arm was worse than when you’d been shot in the first place. You grunted and switched so you were relying on the other arm.
“Thanks,” You breathed, “I think that’s the last of them.”
“You good?” He asked, despite being the one with the obvious wound.
“I’m good,” You nodded, “let’s go.”
With a limp in his step, Uncle Dean made his way to the door of the bunker, you following behind. You’d flicked what you hoped was the override switch to the system.
When the door opened instead of a doomsday red, the normal yellowish glow welcomed you home and you were overcome with relief.
Uncle Dean put his arm around you and pulled you in for a quick side hug, ruffling your hair. He smiled proudly, looking down on the bunker’s interior.
“Nice going, kiddo.”

Hey! I was wondering if I could have the prompts 18. “I can’t breath.” 32. “Why didn’t you tell me/us?” 34. “Look at me.” 49. “When was the last time you slept?” With a Sam x daughter!reader and the reader keeps having nightmares and panic attacks from when he died (the vampire thingies in season 13) lyxoxoxooxo
Even though you were safely wrapped in your duvet, guarded by the familiar walls of the bunker, you couldn’t help but still be afraid. Ever since your Dad had been attacked by those vampires you hadn’t had a good night’s sleep. Even when the days were fine, when the three of you had joked and laughed and felt okay, the nights came back and you were left to overthinking.
So now your nights consisted of you, too afraid to sleep, curled up in the library, blanket over you. You hadn’t heard your Dad’s footsteps, too busy shaking. Too busy trying not to shake.“Y/N?” He asked, noticing you on the sofa, breaths uneven. He raced over to you, “Y/N? Sweetheart, look at me.”You broke a little from your haze, teary eyes glancing up to his worried face, “I can’t breath.”
Your Dad’s armed wrapped around you and he held you tight against his chest, “It’s okay, it’s okay. I’m here. You’re okay. You’re safe.”He continued to whisper to you, gently rubbing your back as you found your breaths. You had stopped shaking. You rested your head on your Dad’s shoulders, not sure what to say.
“When was the last time you slept?”
“I’m scared to sleep,” You admitted, looking up at him, “I keep seeing you die and I don’t know how to stop it. I can hear it and I can see it and I can smell it-”“Why didn’t you tell me?” He asked gently.“Because it’s pathetic, we’re supposed to be brave an-”“Y/N, it’s not pathetic. It’s completely normal. You can always talk to me about this stuff, okay? I’ll never be mad at you, I promise. Come on, you can stay with me tonight.” He rose from the sofa and held out a hand for you to take. You did and for the first night in a while, you felt safe.
Getting hurt and your Dad taking care of you would include...
The bullet shoots straight into your lower stomach and you barely have time to register it before you fall down
Your Dad rushing to you and immediately talking to calm you down while trying to stop the bleeding
Sam looking to Dean for help
Dean trying to pry Sam away from your bedside while you’re still unconscious
You waking up in the Bunker, your Dad already at your side
Your Dad trying to hug you without hurting you, “I’m glad you’re okay, sweetheart.”
“Dad?” “Yeah?” “I’m sorry...I should’ve-” “Hey no no. None of this is your fault, okay, bug? This stuff happens all the time. You have any idea how many times I’ve been shot?”
Sam reading to you while you’re stuck in the bed
Your Dad helping you get back up on your feet
He’s very reluctant to let you go on another hunt, but eventually gives in

Sam and Dean sat impatiently in the waiting room. After a hunt had gone somewhat wrong, Y/N had ended up hitting her head pretty bad. It was bleeding a lot and she was slipping in and out of consciousness. In a panic, the brothers had sped to the hospital and now they were just waiting.Sam glanced around the room as though the pregnant women and the man with his arm in a cast would be able to tell him how his daughter was. “Mr Winchester?”Sam and Dean shot up from their chairs, “Is she okay?”The Doctor smiled tightly, “She’s fine. Follow me.”
Sam breathed a sigh of relief, sharing a look with his brother before racing after the Doctor. “She’s a little tired from the blood loss, but she’ll be just fine. She’s just through here-” The Doctor had barely got her words out before Sam and Dean were in the room, leaving her talking to just a clipboard.
“Hey.” Y/N smiled, she had tired eyes and she looked pale.“Thank God you’re alright.” Sam hummed, perching at her side. “Aw, you guys were really worried.” She teased, trying to make light of her Dad and Uncle’s expressions. Despite the all-clear, they were both still worried.“Well for all we knew you had some serious brain damage.” Dean said, taking a seat.“Well, I may have a very minor case of serious brain damage.” Y/N smirked.“Just don’t scare us like that again.” Sam said, giving her a hug.
