yall wake up chud kuri fic chapter 3 just dropped after five billion years

anyways, it's mentioned in the end of the author's notes, but i changed the prior chapters to have different naming. so if mitsutada isn't called mitsutada by someone else who calls him such or anything adjacent, he's referred to as shokudaikiri. i think some people can get picky with the way naming is in TKRB fics despite how unconventional the naming system is, but it doesn't hurt to make that quality of life change if more people prefer it (no one told me to do this).

shorter chapter i shit out, tsurumaru's an interesting guy and a bonafide oldhead, but we love him for it.

Shokudaikiri - Often on cooking duty. He'd be in the upper court, for being a famous and respected sword, but for some reason he's not. Nobody is sure why... He often takes on leadership roles, and seems to enjoy being in charge. Ookurikara - Lower court's resident grump. He stays to himself, and only seems to enjoy battle and eating the food that they get from the fields. He seems to loosen up after a bath, and chatting with other swords if it stays quiet and in a small group. Which it often does not, because the lower court is all like a big family, and its loudest members are always all over him, it seems. He tolerates them, to a point. Tsurumaru - Used to be in upper court, but was very unceremoniously demoted for his behavior. It's a miracle he still has his feathers, so to speak. He's very free-spirited and loves to be up in everyone's business. Especially those he can get a reaction out of. He's very happy to be in the lower court, because his time in the upper was... traumatic. He doesn't speak of it, just shrugs it off with a joke if asked. Nobody knows what actually happened there to him. Taikogane - Is lucky to even be allowed to exist. The Prince finds any sword that isn't physically impressive to be a waste, so he often just doesn't summon any tantou or wakizashi, unless they come highly recommended or are especially priceless collectables. In his opinion, physical smallness equals weakness, and he does not want any weak links in his ranks. Taikogane is happy and energetic, but he knows he's on thin ice, and works hard to make up for his small stature by being fearless in battle and working the fields until he's exhausted.
