Imagine Steve and person of choice: "I have to take the bus every day, but the nearest stop is obnoxiously far from my house. I noticed you go almost as far as me, wanna walk together to pass the time?"
Steve checked hiswatch and sighed. He didnât have to be at work for another couple of hours, buthis car was in the shop and the nearest bus stop was obnoxiously far and ittook him a while to get there via public transportation. Heâd been doing thisridiculous commute for nearly a week, and he was already counting down the daysuntil he got his car back.
He took a left downhis street and noticed the beautiful brunette walking a hundred yards in frontof him. Every morning, Steve saw that beautiful head of hair, and wished thathe had the courage to say something. Apparently, that morning was his luckyday.
âHey!â he cried, picking up the pace. âWait up!â
The women turned andher perfectly painted lips curved into a dazzling smile.
âI thought youâdnever ask,â she said in a lilting British accent. Steve feels his face flushand stumbles to a halt next to her.
âI, uhâŚhi,â Stevemumbles. âIâm Steve.â He put his hand out and her meticulously manicured handtook his in a firm handshake.
âPeggy Carter.Pleasure to meet you.â
âIâve been, uh,wanting to say hi for a while now,â Steve managed to say, rubbing the back ofhis neck uncomfortably.
âIâm glad you did.Where do you work?â
âAt the school? Downby Seventeenth street?â
âQuite far by bus,isnât it?â
âMy car is in theshop,â Steve replied bashfully.
âSo what will happenwhen your carâs back?â
âIâll start drivingagain. It cuts my commute in more than half.â
âWell, Iâll be sadto see you go,â Peggy said. âYou definitely make my commute more enjoyable.â
âMaybe IcouldâŚuhâŚgive you a rideâŚ?â
Peggy smiled thatamazing smile and took Steveâs hand in hers.
âIâll look forwardto it.â
