one of my theories about the 'surgery' that I've been turning over and over is that it *isn't* a surgery. if it is lacre you're bathing in, well, that has transformative properties + is not great to touch for humans - what if it's literally just 'you sit in the lacre while a master uses the red science to try and convince the universe that you Are a curator'. this would protect you from the lacre at least somewhat, direct its transformations towards the intended goal, *and* slowly convince the universe that you are, ontologically, a curator. it feels like a really wild theory but it does line up

Publisher Bandai Namco and developer Witchcraft have delayed Digimon Survive from its previously planned 2021 release window to 2022, according to TOEI Animation’s latest financial report. It will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam.
The company now lists “Release of Digimon Survive (PS4/Switch) [2022]” under “Fiscal Year 2022 Q3 and Beyond.”
Fiscal year 2022 ends on March 31, 2022.
