mello stans who hate near will never cease to baffle me. that's not only the character that mello's character revolves around, the little guy his existence is defined and driven by, but ALSO mello's biggest in-universe apologist. and you hate him? are you stupid or something?

engaging in the platonic equivalent of sexting (describing to each other what we would all be doing if we lived in the same city) which, instead of making me hard, makes me wistful and full of longing

i actually do think diversity of interpretation is one of the greatest beauties of fandom bc i have seen so many different & unique takes on characters that still sincerely engage with and transform what we see in the source material. unfortunately occasionally an interpretation will piss me off so bad i taste blood. but we don't have to talk about that
