This list is from gamefaqs so I can't vouch for authenticity, and frankly it looks really short to me, but I have actually played rhythm tengoku and warioware gold. Of the two I would say I prefer warioware gold. It really pulls the whole series together really well, and remasters a lot of my favorites of the microgames. Being fully voice acted is a rare treat for a Mario game. Plus I like that wario actually got to be a straight up villain again, even if only briefly. Rhythm tengoku is good but the future games in the series just blow it out of the water. Funny enough warioware and rhythm heaven share the same development team
I feel like this would be a fun challenge to do. Play every game released on your birthday. Good luck finding accurate dates for the 80s though. Those games rarely had formal release dates at all. Plus if you have a birthday in November or December you'd be swamped by all the games released for christmas

As of this moment, I've completed:
-the legend of zelda
-the adventure of link
-a link to the past
-ocarina of time
-link's awakening
-oracle of seasons
-oracle of ages
-four swords
-the minish cap
-phantom hourglass
-skyward sword
-a link between worlds
-tri force heroes
-echoes of wisdom
So that's 14 of 21 main series games completed. Prior to starting this playthrough, i had only completed link to the past, minish cap, phantom hourglass, and link between worlds. Phantom hourglass is the only previously completed game i have not yet gotten to on this playthrough. Cadence of hyrule is the only spinoff I've completed.
I have played at least a little bit of every uncompleted game except tears of the kingdom. I have also played a little of freshly-picked tingle's rosy rupeeland.
From a pure numbers perspective, we're definitely on the back half, but length wise we still have a ways to go. It's mostly 3d games left and those can be looooong.

Iconoclasts is a metroidvania set in an alien world controlled by a religious authority, trying to mine the precious substance Ivory. it has gorgeous looking pixel art, and a TON of bosses, like we're approaching hollow knight territory. the bosses force you to be smart with your movement and master the timing, because unlike your typical metroidvania there isn't a ton to unlock ability wise, just upgrades to your wrench you can find and apply as you choose. killer soundtrack too, and i heavily fuck with any story that has an axe to grind against organized religion

Your favourite game of 2023?
i already picked metroid prime remastered as my favorite so number 2 is easily mario wonder. best mario game in 20 years, i'm so glad they were allowed to go crazy with this one. it's not perfect (2d mario games just can't seem to nail boss battles consistently) but it's full of creative levels, great music, the flowers are hilarious, and i finally got to play as daisy. hope they keep it up
