So the thing about writing is that, um, I'm not. I can't. I haven't been able to in a while.

My aunt was murdered. By her ex-husband. She was like a second mother to me growing up. Complete and utter devastation does not even begin to describe what my family is going through. Death is one thing, but to have someone taken from you like that? And to then have to watch it on the news and not even be told she was shot in the face until we got to the funeral and saw her? That's a whole different level of fucked up.

I have never in my entire life been in such a dark, scary place mentally and physically. I can't sleep. I barely eat anymore. I average a panic attack a day. I can't do anything but crochet because I can't sit still and try to get through every day at this point. The rest of my family is the same. We are drowning in anger and sorrow and confusion, and it's exhausting.

So I'm not writing.

All the words that come out of me are very dark and very angry and are just not the person I used to be. So I'm on a break. I have been for a while now. But maybe saying it out loud will help somehow.

I'll be back. Just not until I get help.

Hello, hello! I hope you like long chapters lol

This was a fun one - the length and development in this chapter was really challenging, but ultimately necessary to keep up the pacing. One of my goals with this fic is learning to write stories over short timelines, and since this story is meant to take place over 8-10 weeks, I want it to feel like every chapter comes with at least one change or significant event. It’s been very fun yet somehow incredibly stressful trying to ensure that I’m hitting my goal and also remaining consistent in wrangling plot bunnies.

Sooooo I have COVID again and it gave me some time to pop in and post this 😂

I hope everyone has been well! This chapter was somehow a bitch and an absolute pleasure to write because we are finally getting to concrete plot instead of just angst-fueled Dark Hook (nothing wrong with that, I enjoyed it immensely and it will continue gratuitously)

Hi everyone!

Been a while, but as always, I have returned.

I finally got my new computer in after my laptop took an unfortunate swim and I’ve been able to make some writing progress on A Dangerous Game and Darkest Winter!!! I even wrote a few pages on the next chapter of Perilous Harbor. If I had to guess, A Dangerous Game might come out next, but Darkest Winter is usually a dark horse in terms of my creative energy and fitting my Villain Era at the moment lol 😂

I hope everyone has been well! I just wanted to pop in to say to expect some form of update on something soon since I now have the means to write and be active in the fandom again!
