⋆ Paranormal romance ⋆ Friends-to-lovers ⋆ Soulmates ⋆ Morally grey characters
I knew it was risky to purchase a special edition set without having read the books first, but I am so glad that I did because I LOVE this series!
The premise alone for book one had me hooked. Once I actually started reading, it did not take long for me to become completely immersed in Thalassa’s world, intrigued by the mystery that unfolds, and invested in Callie’s relationship with the Bargainer. Their slow progression from friends to lovers was well-written and Callie’s journey of self-discovery throughout the series was so inspirational!
If you have not yet read any of Thalassa’s works, this is your sign to do so!
➤ Rhapsodic: 4.5 stars ➤ A Strange Hymn: 4.5 stars ➤ The Emperor of Evening Stars: 4.5 stars ➤ Dark Harmony: 4.5 stars
➤ Overall Series Rating: 4.5 stars

Why do men like this always revert to the insults? It’s embarrassingly predictable.

Dark Harmony story inspired by the Billie Eilish song "All The Good Girls Go To Hell".

As you may have gathered, I am a fan of fantasy...but most of all fantasy romance.
I discovered this author after reading books from Jennifer L. Armentrout, author of Wicked (A Wicked Triology) and the From Blood and Ash series.
This book is 3.5 books in one so it’s humungous, but worth it. Books in order: •Rhapsodic •A Strange Hymn •The Emperor of Evening Stars •Dark Harmony
If you like romance and fantasy and sexy Fae men with wings, a “considerable size” and a sense of humor, then read this book. You will more than likely fall in love with Des. If you also love a strong female lead with a spit fire personality and is sexy beyond all doubt, theeeeen you should probably read this book. Callypso Lillis, a.k.a. Callie, is a siren that has the power to make people do whatever she wants just by using her voice and I am HERE for her. Also, the name Callypso kicks ass. What really caught my eye about the first book was how it was written. The author jumped between different points in time and slowly made the time come together meeting in the present. I was a nice way to introduce the characters and their background as a couple and how they came to meet. As every page went on, I absolutely fell in love with Des. This character is perfect. I loved the banter between Callie and him.
I think the only thing about this book that i didn’t quite like was how the story kind of dragged on a little. The second book seemed like it took forever to get through so I did a little speed reading so I could move on with the story. Even though it was important to the tale, I could’t wait to move on to the novella and the third book. Also, the second book didn’t have many romantic scenes, which of course is one of the reasons I read Laura Thalassa. She is a good story teller, I just really like when she includes raunchy scenes between Callie and Des. Again, I know some people would be like, jesus you crazy, horny weirdo, just go read a harlequin novel but come on. The only reason you would pick up one of Lauras books is for the fairys and sex. So whatever.
Anyways, this is one of my top reads since I’ve introduced myself to the world of fantasy fae.
