He had been trying to mix the correct shade of red for days and no matter how many times he mixed and remixed, it was never quite right. He needed blood red, something black in the moonlight but so violently red it couldn’t be anything else. His hand was steady even as a wicked cocktail of thrill and horror raced up his spine. He didn’t need paint to mimic blood, he needed blood.
