To be honest, Elektra's relationship with Matt is not really different than Frank's, in the sense that both push him to want to kill people. The biggest difference is that Elektra thinks it will help Matt whereas Frank doesn't agree with Matt's catholic philopshy on how criminals are treated.
In the past i've been hard on Elektra, but honestly the narrative punishes her in a way it doesn't punish Frank for doing the same thing. It's harder on her than it is on Frank.
The relationship between Elektra and Matt is destroyed while Elektra's name is tarnished and her influence on Matt's life victimizes him, while the narrative wraps Frank into Matt's sheepfold and fans idolize their clashing relationships.
I could also go deeper into how this plays out in Elektra and Frank's relationship with Karen as elements of the story, and how Karen's white womanhood tends to be plopped against women of color (and people of color in general), and how women of color in Daredevil aren't allowed to be bitchy and mean in the same way that white women are (ie: Reyes and Marci), but i'll just digress (but you don't think Reyes worked just as hard as Matt and Foggy to be where she is? you don't think a black woman deserves to be just a bit bitchy because the way up to top wasn't easy af. We cheer when marcy and karen are bitchy but we're supposed to hate reyes).
It's a bit difficult rewatching a show you loved and realizing how casually racism and misogyny are sprinkled through it.
Obviously they're trying to rectify it in Born Again by adding Kristen, but it's really bad.
