Imagine it. Carol talks Darryl into going on a hike in an attempt to cheer him up (his dad's death would be pretty recent in this AU), and they run into a ragged and amnesiac Henry in the middle of the woods. Carol just wants to call the cops and be done with it, but Darryl's a bit of a bleeding heart, especially since he's grieving, and checks up on Henry and becomes his friend/Earth guide.

I'm thinking Henry falls for Darryl first, 'cos although Carol and Darryl's relationship is kinda on the rocks Darryl's hanging onto it tooth and nail because he's afraid of being alone. But thanks to Henry's emotional support and influence and Darryl's feelings for him Darryl is eventually able to let go of the broken relationship. Or something along those lines.

DANRY

"You need to put yourself first."

"You of all people should know that it's not something I can easily do. Telling me i have to won't make me do it. I need time."

"I won’t let you give up."

"Then please don't leave me. It's all I'm asking for."

"I’m really glad I met you."

"I could say that I'm glad I met you too but those words wouldn't be enough to describe what it's been like for me since the day we met."

"Come run away with me."

"You're crazy. I mean that, you are seriously crazy. I'm not going to lie though, I have thought about what that would be like."

"I want you to stay."

"I'm not sure if I should. You were supposed to be out with her tonight and I'm already late. He- He's waiting for me."

"I’d give up forever to touch you."

"I don't know what to do when you say things like that."

[MSG:] Are you mad at me?

"If you haven't noticed that I have been yours... It's always been you, Henry. I can't picture myself eve being anyone else's."

"Oh god... What am I even doing? I don't know what I'm doing anymore. Henry, please I don't want to be like this anymore!"

"I missed you."

"Does that mean you're going to stop distancing yourself from me? Or are you still set on the idea that I don't need you anymore. I don't want to continue dealing with the empty feeling in my stomach every second that I think of you and wiping tears from my eyes.. You have no idea how that feels to do over and over, every night."

"What were you thinking?"

"I wasn't thinking. That was the point, I needed to stop thinking for once and just let go..."

"What are you afraid of?"

"I'm afraid that I'll go my entire life feeling like this, of myself sometimes."

"Do you trust me?"

"Yes, with my entire life.."

"I think I’ve loved you since the day I met you."

"I wish you would have told me sooner. I was so afraid that you only felt sorry for me for a long time. I ignored that thought though because I let myself fall in love with you. I can handle a lot of things and breakdown silently for a bit and then try to move past it. I think it would've permanently broken me if that thought turned out to be the truth."

"You’re all I think about."

"What would happen if we kissed?"

"I would be afraid that we wouldn't be able to stop."

"I want you to stay."

"Dani...I want to. And you know I will, for as long as you need me to. I like pretending the outside world doesn't exist with you. I just don't want you to wake up and regret it."

"I’d like to be everything you want."

"Don't you get it? You already are."

"I’d cross the world for someone like you."

"I know the feeling. It's overwhelming, isn't it? To feel so much for someone?"

"Maybe you’ll be the one that saves me."

"No, I don't think so. I think you will be the one who saves yourself. You severely underestimate yourself, Danika Delaney. You are the strongest woman I've ever met."

"I don’t wanna miss you more than I already do."

"I'm here. I will always be here. You don't need me anymore, and that's okay. But if you ever changed your mind, if you ever called me up in the middle of the night because you needed me, I'd be there. I promised you that, and I'm not backing out on you. No matter what."

"Do you always trust your first initial feeling?"

"It's...complicated. I have always had this philosophy that feelings can never be wrong, but sometimes the timing is off or something is in the way. All you can do is hope that they go away."

[text]: Does that mean you aren’t coming back?

[text]: I will always come back, for as long as you need me.

[text]: where am I picking you up?

[text]: Shouldn’t you be sleeping?

[text]:  I'm not the one with the 8 am class

[text]: Is that you’re way of saying you miss me?

[text]: It was implied...you know I don't like to go more than an hour.[text]: I don't mind to be more direct though - I miss you. Hurry up and finish whatever you're doing so we can begin making up for lost time.

[text]: Haha, no. I’m not giving it back

[text] I know it’s late, but I just thought about the time we stayed up all night talking. I miss that. I miss you.

[text]: I kinda thought maybe you didn't need me anymore. And that's okay.[text]: But I do miss that.[text]: I miss you.

[text] I wish you were here, my parents are fighting again.

[text]: Do you want me to be? You know all you have to do is say the word.

[text] Oh, by the way. You should have kissed me goodbye.
