"Papers and case files filled the tiny room; Scott had been ever so gracious in allowing him to have that little room of his apartment to store all of their files and recorded cases. He'd even bought Danny a shelf to store all the tapes, each one labeled with the case number, the year, and the general genre. They were grouped on the shelf by genre too; ghosts and monsters and the tiny section labeled, 'Regular Freaky People Shit.' Danny sat down amid the piles and piles of papers and cassettes; his leg ached, but he couldn't be bothered to reach for his cane, propped against the desk on the far side of the room. He just sat there, surrounded by years of his work, and he didn't know what to do."
