Note: well i wanted to post something on daniel’s birthday but i only just had some inspiration today and a part of that inspiration came from watching master’s sun! anw hope you enjoy reading this one!
"it’s okay you can take the bed! i’ll sleep on the floor” daniel offered to you
you were over at daniel’s place to work on some assignments together
just as you were about to leave, the snow started getting heavier
it got to the point where you got snowed in and there is no way for you to leave
when that happened, he told you to stay to wait for the weather to clear up a little and so you did
the longer you waited, the heavier the snow got
and that is when he offered you to stay in which you declined at first
you didn’t want to burden him and his roommate, especially having them to cater for another person
and also, you don’t know what you were going to do, staying over your crush’s apartment
one thing for sure is that your heart wouldn’t be able to take it
so you tried your best to decline his offer
in the midst of the banter, his roommate, seongwoo, entered the apartment, almost fully covered in snow then warning both of you not to go out due to the crazy weather
with that, here you are, stuck at your crush’s apartment
you were sitting in the kitchen with seongwoo, trying to stall time before you have to go to sleep
“yknow, stalling is not gonna help. you still gonna have to sleep in his room,” he said nonchalantly
“ong istg if you told him anything-”
“chill i didn’t! but fyi, i think he does feel the same way,”
“no he doesn’t. you’re just saying that to make me feel better,”
“im really not! i just think, you should tell daniel,”
“tell me what?” speak of the devil - daniel suddenly came into the kitchen
“tell you that... they’re ready for bed! that’s what they wanted to tell you,”
“oh i was just about to ask you! c’mon let’s go,” daniel held you by the wrist then leading you to his room
while you shot a look to seongwoo, he gave you 2 thumbs-up while mouthing good luck then sneakily grinning at you
daniel’s room was pretty simple, it wasn’t messy but it wasn’t overly tidy either
he then handed you an oversized hoodie, which you recognised from the few times he wore to class, and shorts as pyjamas
“thanks. erm daniel, i think you can let go of my hand so i can change,” in which he giggled in reply then letting you head into the bathroom to change
as you put on his hoodie, it felt warm on your skin and the cologne he had probably sprayed over and over on it enveloped you
“hey, where can i put my clothes?” you asked as you stepped out of the bathroom
“right here...” he suddenly had his eyes fixed on you for the longest time
he was still looking at you like that even when he got closer to you
you started feeling yourself blush so you quickly changed the subject
“hey this is the comic that i was telling you about! i really wanted to read it,” you took the book from his table
“huh? no no no, you can read that tomorrow. you need to stop procrastinating to sleep,”
if only he knew this is the only time you actually procrastinated to sleep and it’s all because of him
he tucked you in and ruffled your hair then said good night before lying down on his makeshift bed on the floor
surprisingly you slept pretty well that night, that is until you started having a bad dream, which you had pretty often, and felt somebody shaking you
you got up in a shock, only to be greeted by a sleepy daniel
“are you okay? you were screaming out no for awhile,” he held onto your hands
“omg no.... it’s the bad dream i always have. im so sorry, you should go back to sleep,”
“no no, let me just take care of you. i know you can’t sleep again once you have those dreams,”
he slid next to you in bed, then wrapping one of his arms around you, letting you rest on his chest
it felt like you were enveloped by a warm blanket, that is his embrace
in that moment, your mind wandered to the time when you talked about your bad dreams
you remembered briefly mentioning it in a conversation with daniel once but you never thought he would even remember it
you were definitely touched by his actions
“niel...”
“shh, just try to sleep okay? sweet dreams,” he kissed the top of your head
bonus (the next morning):
“hey niel, do you-”
seongwoo absentmindedly opened the door to daniel’s room only to be greeted by both of your sleeping figures in the same position from last night
except that, daniel was already wide awake and was patting your back while you were still in a deep slumber
seongwoo pointed the finger guns to both of you while winking obnoxiously to him
daniel, who would usually play along with his roommate’s antics, suddenly felt shy and buried his face in his hand out of embarrassment
it was only when seongwoo left the room, he gave you another kiss on the top of your head and continued patting your back
