The Concerns are a Roanoke,Virginia band. i immediately think of Virginia Dare and history when I hear Roanoke. Daniel Cundiff must think of history as well. He mentioned that now that “Eternal Summers aren’t touring as much I got to settle down.”
If The Concerns mark Cundiff’s settling down than I say bring it on. “Country Blue” is one of my favorite releases of 2019 - Mazarin, The Chills, Teenage Fanclub, and R.E.M., are all touchstones but not in a complete imitative way.
If Daniel Cundiff has the ability to double or triple task (that is, have a day job while still making music) we all may be lucky enough to listen to the evolution of an amazing musician.
