y/n's pov
Knowing that my father had forgotten to bring the documents to the grand chancellor again yet this time I have no choice but to take it to El Temor, leaving my room with the books and heading outside to grand chancellor home. I've wondered how Seung Nyang since she enters the palace as the concubine despite that I've used to visited her and trained together as we did back in Goryeo good times yet now I rarely see her since she mostly busty either planning to stop the empress and her family or Ta-hwan spending time with her. I knew that father would be in grand chancellor office, just as I enter grand chancellor's office everyone in the room turned to my directions, "y/n, what are you doing here?" father then asks me "you forgotten about the documents" I answered him, "you must be Baek Ahn's daughter" grand chancellor asked, I turn to him and smile "indeed my lord, I must apologise for interrupting." I answered him and before I bow the grand chancellor raised his hand to stop me from bowing down "there's no need for you to apologise, you have done the right thing for bringing the documents here" I knew what in the documents it's a good thing that I made sure to make a copy of it for father. So I gave the documents to Taltal and did a small bow. Just I was about to leave the office that when I saw the grand chancellor's eldest son, my father's and Seung Nyang's rival, General Dangkise, I remember that he and I met a few times when I was only a child, however, I can's denied that he is indeed good-looking but knowing if my father and cousin had read through my thoughts, they would have a heart attack. I then left the office and heading out to the Imperial Library maybe the books could help me forget him.
Dangkise's pov
"Who was she, father?" father didn't bother to tell us who was she or why she was here but for some reason, my heart beats faster than it normally does. "That would be my daughter y/n, don't tell me that you didn't recognise her" I was actually both shocked and surprised that was y/n, last time I saw her was when she little but now she became a beautiful young woman. "That was y/n, how long has it been since I last visit her, one moment she was a little girl that plays to baduk with either with me or Taltal and the next she a becomes a beautiful and intelligent young woman" Baek Ahn's chuckles at that, I smile the found memory that y/n managed to beat nearly everyone in baduk a few times even Taltal lost to her a couple of time. "It's only been about seven years since you saw her" Taltal answered my question. Seven years since I last her, I can't believe she all grow up. "She was only here to drop off the documents that Baek Ahn had forgotten" Baek Ahn never forgotten about something, it's either that the age is getting him or he did it on purpose or he had it copied. I have to keep a close eye on him and Taltal, even y/n.
A few days later
I can't stop thinking of her my heart won't stop beating fast and it feels as if my insides are going to explode off, she inside of my mind every time I think of her. I knew that she would be in the imperial library, after all, I used to grab some book and give them to little y/n, heck she was so smart and perhaps still is. I keep telling myself that she's the daughter of the enemy yet when I saw her again the same feeling came back and I realise something that I try to denied oh no not again, I can't be falling for her just like I was falling for Seung Nyang, why does this keep happing to me, Baek Ahn is so going to murder me while Taltal finds the place to buried me dead or alive and this time I don't think father will try to help, instead, he would properly going to arranged a wedding between me and y/n. perhaps I just try playing baduk with her and see where it goes and hope that father doesn't found out about it. I then realise that she could be in the imperial library, I wonder what had she been doing for the last seven years.
y/n's pov
I can't stop thinking of him, and it's been only a few days, I tried to read as many books or focus on playing baduk as possible yet, every time I try to focused on someone or something, my thoughts go to Dangkise. I've only gone to the Imperial library for a few days now, maybe I could just try playing baduk with him after all he did promise to play baduk when he manages to find the time and place. Until I realise something, the room looked so dark and yet only a few candles are lighted. I've looked outside and it's was already night time and snowing, I suddenly realise that father would be furious about me staying out so late. So I clean up and put the books back til I felt a hand on my shoulder, I turn to see General Dangkise "if I remember correctly, you must be y/n" he questioned. "Indeed I am, what are you doing here unless you are looking for someone" I answer, he smiled at me like he used to before "how about this, we meet at your home tomorrow afternoon and just play baduk together just like old times" I was not excepting that and realise that he actually remembers his promise yet however I remember that father would not approve if he sees Dangkise in his home playing baduk with me but would properly it be best to play in his home instead of my home when father and Taltal are out. "I don't think my father would approve see you in his home, I need to get home otherwise father would send the whole patrol to find me" I then left him and rushed home only to realise that I had forgotten to grab my books and coat, I turn to see Dangkise with my books and coat "forgotten something, my lady" he has then given me back my books and my coat. "let me at least escort to you back home, after all, it's late and freezing" I would say no but of course he's not wrong, so I had no choice but to accept it after putting my coat on "very well general, shall we then".
Half an hour later
"And that's why I had to no choice but cut most of my hair off since my sister won't stop pulling my hair when she was little" I couldn't stop laughing after all the stories that he told me that help me calmed down while walking home with him. "I feel so sorry for you and your hair, honest it explains a lot" I can't help but smile until I see my home and we stopped I then let go of his arm "well now we go our separation, I thank you for leading to me home safely" he then gave me a small smile "it at least I can do" just as I was about to go home he suddenly asked "I still need your answer about my invitation, if not then I understand" I nearly forgot about the invention yet knowing it would be risky and dangerous plus it would also help Seung Nyang and father as well but secretly I want to see him again, "of course, I also hope that you tell me many more stories as well" Dangkise then gave me a kind smile and bow his head then left while smiling. I then knew that I have to get back to my room I rush back to the house and check only to see father talking with Taltal, lucky they are far from my room. I had to tiptoe all the way quietly and hid from them till I finally made it to my room, "Well at least I get to see him again".
