In the distance what do I see

A shadow dancing

Or are my eyes fooling me

A rhythm reality can't understand

Night is a broken soul

No light could ever mend

A moment in it's spotlight

Oh, to be watched by the abyss

To follow the rhythm of endless night

Watching the shadows dance

Can't look away

Cause I won't get a second glance

Not enough time to think

Because I'll miss them

If i even blink

The suffocating silence as their haunted song

The soundless void

Stretching far and long

They'll never knock on your door

But they might drag you

To their silent dance floor

You'll seem possessed

But it's just a demon desperate for more

Desperate for a partner to dance in the dark

Desperate to make a point

Desperate to leave a mark

shielded from the harsh realities by a layer of glass

lustrous smile accentuated by stainless steel

borders that coil and curve

lively as you one were beside me

darkening light flickers in the corner

shadows dance as we once did

murky evenings like these

the room illuminated by lights twinkling like stars

warmth by whisky and presence

grainy sounds of dated records

rotating as we do spin

drunken and delirious

now all but an ethereal memory

preserved by a solitary fading image
