There (Y/n) sat alone at the table, secretly wishing they could just have one dance with the person of their affection. The one person they wanted to have this dance with wasn’t there. It wasn’t really Bakugo’s kind of scene so of course he wouldn’t be there. But some part of (Y/n) wished that just for this one day, that he’d do something out of his comfort zone. They had been best friends with him since they were younger, they were always so close, (Y/n) could even remember when they were younger and would force Bakugo to dance with them. 

“Katsuki!” They said in a whiny tone, “Dance with me please?” (Y/n) was now swaying along to the music feeling it run through their blood. It didn’t matter how good or bad it looked, they felt the music running through them, they couldn’t help but not move. 

“No way stupid.” He glared at them as he sat on his bed. 

“Please, no one is watching.” They twirled at this point and continued to sway. 

“Fine! But only one song.” He tsked and got up, walking over to them he placed his hand in theirs and helped them twirl longer. The room was filled with (Y/n) light laughter, they couldn’t see it but while they laughed Bakugou couldn’t help but smile at how something so small made them happy. 

(Y/n)’s thoughts were interrupted by a hand in front of them, it was a boy from another class, they hadn’t really known them well but any invitation to dance they’d take. The boy was dancing a little too close to their taste, they wondered why they had asked them to dance. Maybe they also didn’t have a dance partner, maybe they were scared to ask the real person they wanted. The second thought made them a bit sad, they were a second choice, they didn’t really like being a second choice. 

Once the song finished they thanked the boy and started to walk away when they were pulled again for a second dance, they lightly yelped when they were now pulled to the person's chest. They felt uncomfortable, this position was just too weird for being strangers. “Come on, just one more dance. It’s not like anyone is gonna ask you.” He whispered in their ear. 

“Please let me go.” 

“No, I said one more dance.” 

“Let me-” 

“They said let them go asshole.” Another voice spoke up, hearing the voice both of them looked up to see the blonde. 

They guy holding (Y/n) tsked and gripped onto their wrist tighter, “And what are you gonna do about it?” 

Seeing (Y/n) wince at the way the guy was grabbing their wrist made Bakugo upset, “I’ll break you’re fucking face in punk.” Bakugo moved close enough to grab (Y/n) by the waist and pull them to him. With his other hand he pushed the boy back, “Touch them again and I won’t hold back.” 

“Fuck both of you.” The boy walked away upset as his friends laughed at him while he walked back. 

“Are you okay?” Bakugo looked at their wrist to see if there were any marks. When he touched it lightly they winced. 

“Katsuki why are you here? I thought you weren’t coming?” The small pain didn’t matter at the moment, what did was that he actually showed up. 

“Idiot you’re hurt. Don’t think about that right now.” He flicked their forehead and started to lightly drag them away so that they could leave. 

“Katsuki?” 

Hearing their soft voice over the blasting was a mystery but it was enough to stop him. He turned back and looked at them, he could see small tears in their eyes. He wanted to say he was surprised that they were crying but he knew that they always cried over anything whether it was sad or not. “What?” 

“Dance with me.” He saw the big smile on their face, he could tell they were happy. They had always been an open book. 

Tsking he looked away and rubbed the back of his neck, it was getting harder to say no to them as they both grew up. “Do I have to?” 

(Y/n) nodded their head, “Yeah, it would be a waste not to.” 

“You’re so annoying. You know that right?” It was a lie, the blush on his face proved it. 

“Yeah I know.” Smiling, they took his hand and started to lead him to the dance floor. 

They started out with a small swaying of their hips, it then escalated to him twirling them around. The music had been fast paced so there was no need for him to hold them by the waist. It had been like that for a good ten minutes. That was till the DJ put on slow music, “I guess we should stop.” Just as they were walking away Katsuki’s hand yanked on them making them spin into his arms. Their eyes widened as they were slightly dipped in his arms looking up at him. “Kats-” 

“We aren’t stopping yet. Not till we’re both tired.” He set them back on their two feet and placed a hand in theirs and the other on their waist. 

“Are you sure? There could be people watching you?” 

“They probably have been since I got here.” He paused before he started to help sway both of them along to the music, “Plus I don’t care anymore.” 

“Why’s that?” Their other hand on his shoulder lightly clung to his shirt. 

“Cuz you’re the only one I care about when we’re dancing.” He turned away another blush started to form, he couldn’t hide it, it had spread to the tip of his ears giving them full view. 

The heat on their face matched the blush on his, removing their hands (Y/n) replaced it with a hug. Their arms around Katsuki’s, they could feel his arms wrapping around them. “Let’s stay like this till the end then.” 

Katsuki couldn’t help but smile, “Yeah alright.”
