This is the first painting, and the more I look at it, the worse I think it looks

This is the second painting and I think that the sky/clouds/background might need to be redone to look more like a dark cloudy sky but I think it looks fine aside from that

Ohh, city, these look great!! I think either of them would be lovely for an art contest! For the first painting, I see what you're seeing. I think it could use some more contrast! I also recommend playing with harsh lighting for it (maybe even some complimentary colors?) and perhaps adding some rays of light through the water to imply the jellyfish being near the surface? You could even paint some ripply light shapes on their heads or use glazing (paint in mix medium) to make them look translucent! For the mountains, same advice about the contrast. A bit of extra dark darks and highlights (but not too much!! A little goes a long way!) can go far. I hope this is helpful, hehe! It looks like you have a really great eye for artwork! Good luck with the contest!! You'll do great, I'm sure of it!

This is an interesting question actually! Depending on how actively I post, I can receive anywhere from about 6 asks to 20+ asks in a day (so 42 to 140+ per week). It really depends. I get more asks during events and during plots that have ships people are trying to get together. On days when I don't have the time or energy to post often, people don't tend to send as many asks. As for how many of those asks I'm able to post, not all of them (especially on event or plot days). I used to be able to post about 30 asks a day, but once the plot became more involved, the posts take more time to write. That's another reason I'm encouraging silly asks! That way we can bring back that fun and fast-paced nature it had before. Nowadays, if I get 10 asks for example, I'll probably end up posting about 6 or 7 of them (especially since sometimes I get multiple asks that are too similar to post them all). On a good day, though, I do try to post as many as possible! As I said before, it depends on the day.
